## What You'll Do

- Own backend services end-to-end — architecture, implementation, deployment, and what happens when they break.

- Write mostly TypeScript, and Go where the project calls for it. Different engagements make different choices; you'll be comfortable in both.

- Design data models, schemas, and APIs on Postgres — and know when the database should be doing the work.

- Build the React/TypeScript frontend for the features you ship. You take a feature all the way through the UI, not just to the API boundary.

- Ship your own work to production: Docker, CI/CD, environments. There's no DevOps team to hand it to.

- Build LLM-backed features on real client products — retrieval, embeddings, agentic workflows, Claude and similar APIs.

- Make the technical decisions. Pick the framework, shape the architecture, choose the tradeoffs, and defend them in review.

- Move between projects — client products and our own — across different domains and constraints.

- Talk directly to clients and to the founder. No layers in between.

- Use AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) as part of your daily workflow.

## What We're Looking For

- 6+ years building and running production backend systems

- Deep TypeScript on the server, not just in components — you know where the type system earns its keep

- Production Go experience, or enough depth to get there quickly — some of our projects are Go and you'll be expected to work in them

- Strong Postgres: schema design, query performance, migrations

- Solid React and TypeScript on the frontend — enough to build and ship a complete feature without a frontend engineer alongside you

- API design experience (REST, gRPC, or GraphQL) and an opinion on when to reach for which

- Comfortable owning your own deployments — Docker, CI/CD, cloud environments (AWS or GCP)

- A track record of shipping without a detailed spec and without process handed to you

- Comfort working in the US timezone (overlapping working hours required)

• Comfortable interviewing stakeholders and writing requirements yourself when there's no dedicated BA.
• Practical ownership of scope, dates, dependencies, risks, change requests, and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Hardware Setup & Logistics: Mass configuration of Meta Quest headsets (2, 3, 3S, Pro), including creating Meta accounts and installing proprietary apps ("Hawk", "Luminify", and "360 Player").
• L1 Support & Onboarding: Guiding new clients through the onboarding process, assisting with initial setup, receiving incoming requests, and resolving basic user queries.
• CRM Administration: Registering new headsets in the internal system, updating device statuses, and tracking hardware assignments to specific clients or exhibitions.
• Manual & Regression QA: Executing basic test cases before product releases, verifying content performance on devices, and logging test results.

• Event Assistance: Preparing, charging, and packing equipment for exhibitions, as well as assisting during public demo sessions.

   

Required Skills

• Communication & Empathy: Ability to calmly, clearly, and simply explain technical details to B2B clients (specifically in English) and team members.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to tracking hardware in the CRM and ensuring no mandatory steps are missed during the mass setup of multiple devices.
• Structured Approach: Ability to properly document support tickets and bug reports in Jira (providing clear problem descriptions, steps to reproduce, and logs).
• Independent Troubleshooting: Capability to independently find solutions for common mechanical or system errors before escalating the issue.
   

Required Knowledge

• Meta Quest Ecosystem: Solid understanding of the Meta OS, firmware update processes, controller mechanics, and setup via the mobile app.
• QA Basics: Understanding of software testing workflows and how to correctly report bugs.
• CRM & Task Trackers: Basic experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, internal accounting systems and tools like Jira.
• Technical Literacy: Understanding of basic networking principles (Wi-Fi, hotspots), which is crucial for synchronizing VR hardware and applications.

Engineering and architecture

• Design and deliver robust backend services, frontend UI components, data models, messaging systems, and API specifications across the studio's game platform.
• Take a leading role in architectural discussions and technology research, contributing considered, well-reasoned perspectives that help shape the platform's long-term direction.
• Translate complex functional requirements into precise, elegant technical designs that balance immediate delivery needs with sustainable long-term maintainability.
• Write high-quality, well-documented code with performance, reliability, and testability as non-negotiable standards.

Quality and technical leadership

• Work within and actively champion a test-driven development culture, taking personal accountability for the correctness and resilience of your output.
• Lead thorough peer code reviews that raise engineering standards across the team, providing specific, actionable, and constructive feedback.
• Act as a technical reference point for less experienced engineers, sharing knowledge, supporting problem-solving, and contributing to a culture of continuous learning.
• Proactively identify technical debt, architectural risks, and opportunities to improve platform quality — and drive the work to address them.

Delivery and collaboration

• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of outcomes rather than just tasks.
• Work closely with QA analysts, product stakeholders, and fellow engineers to deliver features that fully meet functional, technical, and commercial requirements.
• Contribute to the identification and implementation of process and automation improvements across the development lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date tracking of work, issues, and progress using project management tooling (JIRA or equivalent).

Who and what we are after? 
 

• 4+ years of professional experience as a Fullstack Engineer or in an equivalent senior role, with a demonstrable track record of platform-level delivery.
• Solid backend development experience in Python, or a comparable server-side language, with the ability to design and own services from the ground up.
• Experience working with distributed systems and microservice architectures at scale.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy, taking initiative and driving outcomes without close direction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a genuine, deep commitment to software quality.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) in cloud-based environments.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with hands-on experience across modern frontend frameworks (Angular, Vue, React, or equivalent) and contemporary build tooling.

• Experience in C# and .NET as an additional backend capability.

We're looking for an experienced RPA Engineer to join our automation team. In this role, you'll design, 
build, and maintain automation solutions using UiPath and Python, working closely with stakeholders 
across Casino, AML, Finance, and Tech. You'll help remove manual bottlenecks, improve operational 
efficiency, and support the wider adoption of automation across the business. 

• Working closely with departments such as Casino, AML, Finance, and Tech to understand automation needs
• Designing, building, and deploying RPA and Python-based automation solutions that reduce manual effort and operational risk
• Maintaining clear technical documentation and handover materials for every solution delivered
• Adapting quickly to shifting priorities across multiple concurrent projects
• Owning end-to-end delivery of RPA solutions, from design through to production deployment
• Presenting technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders in plain, accessible language
• Monitoring and troubleshooting live RPA bots to ensure stable, ongoing operation

Who and what we are after? 
 

• At least 3 years' hands-on experience building RPA solutions with UiPath
• Proven ability to design automation pipelines connecting multiple systems — extracting, processing, and integrating data with existing codebases (Python, Java, PHP)
• Experience deploying and supporting UiPath solutions in a live production environment
• Strong working knowledge of APIs
• Solid QA testing background, automated or manual
• At least 2 years' experience with Python automation, including APIs and Selenium
• Comfortable analysing data with Python (e.g. pandas) — desirable but not essential
• Practical experience using AI APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Claude, Gemini)
• Ability to maintain and update RPA scripts on an ongoing basis
• Experience integrating RPA workflows with Python via APIs
• Working knowledge of C#, Java, or PHP for troubleshooting and bug fixes — nice to have
• Strong problem-solving skills with close attention to detail
• Comfortable working in agile environments, managing multiple concurrent projects
