    • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and an ownership mindset.
    • Working proficiency in written and spoken English.

    Preferred Qualifications and Bonus Points

    • Experience in iGaming, Bookmaker, FinTech, or other regulated / high-risk domains.

    • Deploy and operate containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
    • Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate code comprehension and delivery.
    • Mentor team members and contribute to a fast-paced, monthly release cycle with heavy quality checks.

    Required Competence and Skills:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience designing and developing backend solutions in Go and/or Java.
    • At least 5 years of experience with Spring Boot for Java microservices.
    • At least 5 years building and maintaining containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.

CTO (Chief Technology Officer) for AI-Powered SaaS Platform | London

    About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing AI-powered platform reimagining how top companies operate in their industry. They're not just optimizing existing processes β€” they're rebuilding them from the ground up for a world where AI fluency is essential. Their clients include leading names across fintech, crypto, and technology sectors.

They're now searching for a hands-on CTO to join their London team and help build the future of their AI-native platform.

    The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing startup at a pivotal stage. We're looking for a technical leader who will not only manage a 6-person tech team but lead by example through hands-on programming.

You'll shape the technical architecture, scale the team, and personally build the AI and product capabilities at the heart of the platform β€” from intelligent scoring and profiling to contextual engagement and autonomous AI agents.

If you love building products, moving fast, and experimenting relentlessly to ship bespoke AI/ML solutions that fundamentally change how users interact with the platform β€” this role is for you.

    What You'll Be Building

    • Custom AI/ML products β€” evaluation engines, intelligent scoring systems, contextual profiling
    • Agentic AI tools β€” autonomous AI agents that engage with users and optimize workflows
    • End-to-end platform workflows β€” built around modern UX and fast, high-signal decisions
    • World-class design β€” a product that users cannot get enough of
    • Core infrastructure β€” ensuring scale, stability, and adaptability across the platform

    Must-Have Requirements

    Location:

    • Critical: Ability to be in London minimum once per week
    • Hybrid-first approach with flexibility for deep work

    Technical Expertise:

    • 8-15+ years in software engineering with 3-5+ years managing and scaling engineering teams
    • Strong technical depth in AI/ML β€” hands-on experience with LLM, NLP, or applied ML systems (2+ years in production)
    • Backend mastery β€” commercial experience with Node.js/Nest.js
    • Database expertise β€” PostgreSQL in production environments
    • Cloud infrastructure β€” AWS deployment and maintenance experience
    • Active coder β€” you still write code regularly and lead by example

    Leadership:

    • Proven experience hiring and managing engineering teams (5+ people)
    • Track record of scaling teams in startup environments
    • Technical leadership: code reviews, architecture decisions, mentoring engineers

    Mindset:

    • Build from scratch β€” you love to code and build products yourself
    • Speed and experimentation β€” comfortable with fast iterations and ambiguity
    • Startup mindset β€” thrive in dynamic, high-growth environments

    Nice-to-Have:

    • Frontend skills β€” React, TypeScript, modern frontend architecture
    • Advanced AI tooling β€” experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector), agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, AutoGPT, CrewAI)
    • Prompt engineering expertise and RAG implementations
    • Domain experience β€” understanding of the relevant industry workflows and platforms
    • B2B SaaS experience, especially scaling 0β†’1 products
    • Open-source contributions, publications, or talks about AI applications
    • Experience working with fintech or crypto companies

    Why Join

    • Technical ownership β€” full autonomy to shape the technical direction
    • Real-world AI impact β€” your work directly influences outcomes for leading companies every day
    • Product-market fit β€” building a new category with strong traction and market validation
    • Exceptional team β€” work with people who deeply understand the space and have built successful products before
    • Hybrid-first culture β€” flexibility with regular in-person deep work sessions for real product energy

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Base salary: Β£50K-Β£150K depending on experience
    • Equity β€” meaningful ownership in a fast-growing company
    • Employment type: Full-time (UK contract or contractor arrangement available)
    • Location: London-based, hybrid working

    Hiring Process
