Jobs at Djinni

About Our Client

Our client is a leading enterprise data platform company building an open, high-performance data lakehouse for AI and analytical workloads. The platform combines an intelligent SQL query engine, an AI-ready semantic layer, and an open catalog built on Apache Iceberg — enabling Fortune 500 companies across finance, energy, manufacturing, and logistics to unify, query, and govern data at massive scale across cloud and on-premise sources.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on the core query engine of a large-scale distributed data platform. You will own significant components across query planning, optimization, and execution — both driving improvements and acting as a trusted owner of production quality: diagnosing complex customer-reported issues and delivering safe, well-tested fixes across supported release lines. Engineers with staff-level scope and ambitions are very welcome.

This is a systems-level, backend engineering role focused on distributed data processing internals — not application development or CRUD services.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement query engine components — planner, optimizer, execution operators, memory management, and data access layers
• Diagnose and resolve complex production and customer-reported issues across the full query path — correctness, performance, memory, concurrency, resiliency, and compatibility
• Develop, review, and backport fixes across multiple supported release lines; strengthen regression prevention
• Write and review high-quality, performance-critical code in Java and/or C++
• Analyze query profiles, execution plans, logs, and telemetry to drive performance optimization — profiling, benchmarking, and eliminating bottlenecks in latency- and throughput-sensitive paths
• Integrate with columnar formats, open table formats, and connectivity drivers
• Improve regression tests, diagnostics, and observability; contribute to CI/CD architecture and quality processes in Jenkins
• Mentor middle engineers, lead code reviews, and help set technical standards
• Debug complex cross-layer issues spanning query planning, distributed execution, memory management, and I/O, partnering with US-based engineering leads

Required Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years in backend / systems software engineering with a track record of owning significant components end-to-end
• Strong proficiency in Java or C++ (comfort with both is especially valued), with deep understanding of OOP, systems design, memory management, concurrency, and asynchronous programming
• Advanced SQL and solid understanding of query execution internals — planning, optimization, operator implementation
• Experience building or extending data processing systems: query engines, distributed databases, ETL/ELT, or analytical platforms
• Ability to assess change risk in a mature production system; experience supporting software across multiple versions, branches, or customer environments
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins and modern CI/CD workflows; Docker and Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Confident Git/GitHub workflows and rigorous code-review habits
• Comfortable with AI-assisted development workflows — using modern AI tools for code comprehension, debugging, and test generation, and critically validating their output
• Prior experience mentoring engineers, leading technical designs, or owning components end-to-end
• English Upper-Intermediate or higher (B2+) — daily written and verbal communication with a US-based engineering team
• Availability to work EU business hours shifted 2–3 hours later for daily overlap with US West Coast mornings

Desired Skills

• Apache Arrow (columnar in-memory format) and SQL planner/optimizer frameworks such as Apache Calcite
• LLVM-based runtime expression compilation / code generation
• Open table formats — Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Hudi — and columnar file formats such as Parquet, Avro, or ORC
• MPP query engines (Presto, Trino, or similar); background with distributed data platforms such as Spark, Snowflake, or Databricks
• Deep understanding of query optimization (cost-based, rule-based), vectorized execution, memory management, spilling, and caching
• Connectivity drivers: JDBC, ODBC, Arrow Flight
• Managed Kubernetes (GKE/EKS/AKS) and multi-cloud exposure; Terraform; cloud object storage (AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, Google Cloud Storage)
• SaaS operations experience: incident response, profiling, observability, release and backport processes
• Systems-level performance work and open-source contributions to data infrastructure projects

Details

• Engagement: Long-term contract
• Location: Europe (EU / EEA / UK), remote
• Working hours: EU business hours, shifted 2–3 hours later for daily overlap with the US West Coast team

Seeking Alpha is the world’s leading community of engaged investors. We’re the go-to destination for investors looking for actionable stock market opinions, real-time market analysis, and unique financial insights. At the same time, we’re also dedicated to creating a workplace where our team thrives. We’re passionate about fostering a flexible, balanced environment with remote work options and an array of perks that make a real difference.

Here, your growth matters. We prioritize your development through ongoing learning and career advancement opportunities, helping you reach new milestones. Join Seeking Alpha to be part of a company that values your unique journey, supports your success, and champions both your personal well-being and professional goals.

What We're Looking For

Role Overview: You will take ownership of the search infrastructure for Ask Seeking Alpha — a financial intelligence platform powered by LLMs. Your main goal is to ensure our AI agents can find the exact financial data they need (articles, transcripts, news) in milliseconds. You will work on the Retrieval layer of our RAG architecture, combining traditional text search with modern vector search techniques.

Tech Stack: Elasticsearch (v8+), Python (FastAPI, Asyncio), OpenAI Embeddings, LangChain, LangSmith.

The Senior Search Engineer will be engaged with the company as a contractor (Private Entrepreneur).

What You'll Do

• Search Engine Development: Design and implement Hybrid Search strategies. You will figure out how to best combine "keyword matching" (finding specific tickers like 'AAPL') with "semantic search" (finding concepts like 'revenue growth').
• Relevance Tuning: You are responsible for the quality of search results. You will build systems to measure and improve how well the search engine answers user queries (using tools like LangSmith).
• Vector Search & RAG: Manage the integration of OpenAI embeddings into Elasticsearch. You will solve challenges related to indexing long documents (e.g., earnings transcripts) so the AI retrieves only the most relevant parts.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize Elasticsearch queries and index settings to ensure low latency, even for complex queries with many filters.
• Python Backend: Develop and maintain the Python services that build queries and process results. We use FastAPI and Asyncio heavily.

Requirements

• Elasticsearch Expert: 5+ years of experience working with Search Engines in production. You understand how indices, analyzers, and mappings work "under the hood."
• Search Theory: You understand the difference between Lexical Search (keywords) and Vector Search (meaning), and know when to use which.
• Python Proficiency: Strong experience with Python 3.10+. You are comfortable writing asynchronous code (async/await) and building APIs.
• Data Engineering: Experience designing data schemas for search (how to structure JSON documents for efficient retrieval).

Nice to Have

• Experience building RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines.
• Familiarity with LangChain or similar LLM frameworks.
• Experience with Evaluation tools (like LangSmith) to test search quality automatically.
• Background in Finance (understanding tickers, earnings calls, etc.).

Seeking Alpha is the world's leading community of engaged investors. At the same time, we’re also dedicated to creating a workplace where our team thrives. We’re passionate about fostering a flexible, balanced environment with remote work options and an array of perks that make a real difference.

What We're Looking For

Do you look at websites and think about how they might be personalized? Do you use websites and apps and think about how their features have been designed to be best for a lot of different users? Do you read articles with statistics and think about how they may be misinterpreting the data to get their results? If these things describe you, and if you’re great at SQL and have experience analyzing website data, you’re someone we want to talk to.

We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst with experience analyzing website data. Our data analyst team analyzes everything on our website, not only for their immediate use but also for how they connect to high-level company KPIs. Our Analysts analyze raw data, not only pre-aggregated data, to extract just the right information and diagnose what is happening on our site.

The role requires understanding web development and how data is gathered, analysis of site usage and a/b tests, data visualization, and how different kinds of data can be presented most clearly, and business KPIs and how they are measured.

But more than that, we’re looking for experienced analysts who can bring us new ideas about how to analyze and extract insights from website data. Our ideal candidates have measured KPIs that we haven’t measured or used new ways to explain user retention, or analyzed features of users' data that we haven’t analyzed.

The best thing about our work is that we’re part of an incredibly data-driven company. Everyone from the CEO down uses data every day. The data teams are involved in every single thing the company does.

What You'll Do

• Analyzing the behavior of users on our site and apps:

-Build and maintain dashboards that visualize the usage of single or multiple features and how that usage drives company KPIs.

-Answer questions about site usage or user behavior based on deeper analyses.

• Analyze and track high-level KPIs such as conversion, retention, churn, recurring revenue, engagement, cross-device usage, e-mail and notification usage, and more.
• Communicate with business stakeholders on analysis results, how they relate to business, and what business suggestions result from the analysis.
• Run the whole data flow for site and app features, from defining KPIs, specifying data collection for development team implementation, and building and maintaining iterative versions of dashboards with both low-level and high-level views of collected data.
• Split tests of product features:

-Design a test with clear success criteria

-Monitor test integrity

-Analyze results and give recommendations

-Use segmentation and clear cohort analysis to validate significant conclusions

-Conduct exploratory analysis to identify trends and opportunities

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years in a B2C website-related Data Analyst position
• Strong SQL skills with experience writing complex and efficient analytical queries
• Demonstrated experience with working in English directly with business stakeholders, understanding their needs, and explaining results
• Understanding of website development and operations and how they connect to data gathered.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Looker/Tableau/PowerBI, etc.)
• Experience with report writing and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling

English at C1 is required!

We’re looking for a Social Media & Growth Marketing Specialist to join our small team and take responsibility for attracting new users to our app and growing our media presence.

This role combines social media management, content creation, influencer collaborations, and growth experiments. You’ll also become a public face of our brand, creating videos featuring yourself and our app.

What matters most to us is honesty, open communication, and proactivity. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, is open about their weaknesses and knowledge gaps, and feels comfortable asking questions and seeking help in areas where they need support.

Previous professional experience is not required. We’re ready to teach you and support your development. However, you should already feel natural on camera and understand social media fundamentals, including hooks, content length, and how to communicate with an audience. You don’t need to speak on camera. We can use voiceovers or voices generated with AI instead.

What you’ll need:

English at C1 level or higher. You must be comfortable speaking freely in English, including holding conversations lasting one to two hours.

The first interview will be in English so we can assess your English level and how comfortably you express yourself in conversation. After that, everyday communication can be a mix of Ukrainian and English, with one weekly meeting with the founders held in English.

Confidence on camera. You should feel comfortable appearing in videos and presenting our app in a natural, engaging way. Speaking on camera is optional.

An understanding of social media content. You should understand what makes a strong hook, how to choose an appropriate content length, and how to adapt your communication to your audience.

You don’t need to know every tool or have experience with every responsibility below. We’ll help you learn what you’re missing.

Your responsibilities

Social media and community engagement

Manage and develop our presence on Threads, X (Twitter), Reddit, Discord, and LinkedIn.

On Threads, you’ll publish posts from our account, respond to replies on our posts, and engage with other creators’ posts by recommending and promoting our app in relevant conversations.

Instagram and TikTok content

Create weekly posts and stories for Instagram and TikTok. Produce carousels and reels including showcasing the app, from the initial idea through recording, editing, and publishing.

Influencer collaborations

Research potential influencer partners, evaluate opportunities, and make decisions about which collaborations to pursue.

Reach out to influencers, manage messages, follow up, and coordinate collaborations.

AI content and tools

Create videos using AI, experiment with cartoons generated with AI, and edit it.

Set up AI agents to support our marketing work and explore ways to use AI in content creation and daily workflows.

User acquisition and growth

Keep asking: “How can we get more users?” and “How can we increase our media presence?”

Bring ideas, identify opportunities, and turn them into practical experiments. Your role is not only to publish content, but also to help us understand what attracts people to the app.

Google Play and App Store pages

Manage and improve the text on our Google Play and App Store pages.

Experiment with different descriptions, using the testing options available on each platform. Track conversion rates for the different versions and use the results to identify the most effective messaging.

Reporting and teamwork

Create monthly performance reports covering our social media channels, Google Play, and the App Store. Summarize results, explain what worked and what didn’t, and suggest what to try next.

Participate in daily calls with the CEO and weekly calls with the whole team.

What we offer

• Base salary of $500+ per month, with salary reviews every few months.
• A performance bonus of $100 for every 1,000 new users.
• Equity/stock after three months of work.
• Learning support and access to experienced specialists. If you have knowledge gaps in marketing or other areas, we can pay for one or two consultations per month with more experienced specialists and purchase educational materials.

We don’t expect you to know everything from day one. We’re ready to teach you, help you develop your skills, and give you room to grow alongside the app.

Join an international engineering team building a high-performance data platform used by Fortune 500 companies. We are looking for a Middle Software Engineer (1.5–3.5 years of experience) to join the sustaining engineering team for the data catalog and enterprise data management layer of a large-scale lakehouse platform — the services that automate data ingestion and optimize Apache Iceberg tables for existing customers. The team's mandate is to keep these services running reliably for current clients: investigating and fixing customer-reported issues, resolving defects, addressing performance regressions, and keeping dependencies and security patches current. This is a maintenance and support role, not a feature-development role.

This is a backend Java role in a multithreaded, distributed environment where stability and availability for production customers are the baseline expectations. You will work with hands-on mentorship from senior engineers and in daily collaboration with US-based engineering leads and support teams.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, reproduce, and fix customer-reported issues and defects in the catalog and data-management services (Java)
• Diagnose production problems from logs, metrics, and thread or heap dumps, and work with support teams and solution architects on customer escalations
• Address performance regressions and stability issues in multithreaded, distributed services.
• Keep the services current: dependency and library upgrades, security patches, and compatibility fixes
• Write regression tests and small supportability improvements (logging, metrics, diagnostics) so issues are easier to catch and triage next time
• Take part in code reviews and follow the team's release and hotfix process
• Track and apply relevant upstream fixes from the Apache Foundation open-source projects used by the platform

• Communicate status, root causes, and blockers clearly in daily syncs with US-based engineering leads

Required Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field
• 1.5–3.5 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in backend or data-intensive systems
• Strong Java programming skills: solid command of the language, the JVM ecosystem, and standard tooling (Maven or Gradle, JUnit)
• Comfortable debugging and supporting production systems — reading logs and stack traces, reproducing issues, and finding root causes
• Good grounding in data structures and algorithms
• Working knowledge of multithreaded and asynchronous programming in Java (java.util.concurrent, executors, futures) and the motivation to go deeper
• Care for engineering quality — tests, code reviews, and an understanding of why availability, resiliency, and zero-downtime upgrades matter
• Comfort with a fast-moving environment, ownership of your work, and an eagerness to learn from and be mentored by senior teammates
• Comfortable with AI-assisted development workflows — using modern AI tools productively while critically validating their output
• English Upper-Intermediate or higher (B2+) — daily written and verbal communication with a US-based engineering team

• Availability to work EU business hours shifted 2–3 hours later for daily overlap with US West Coast mornings

  Desired Skills

• C++ experience — reading or writing performance-sensitive native code
• Exposure to database internals or query planning
• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts: concurrency control, data replication, storage systems
• Middle Software Engineer – Catalog, EDM
• Apache Iceberg or other open table formats (Delta Lake, Hudi)

• Messaging systems: Kafka, NATS, or cloud pub/sub servicesи Contributions to open-source projects (Apache projects especially valued)

  Details

• Engagement: Long-term contract
• Location: Europe (EU / EEA / UK), remote
• Working hours: EU business hours, shifted 2–3 hours later for daily overlap with the US West Coast team

ABOUT US

We are a US e-commerce company. We run the whole business on one internal web panel that we build ourselves: orders, customer support, call center, hiring, analytics, and ad production with AI video and image models. It is live and the team uses it every day.

THE ROLE

You will be the developer who owns this panel. The founder gives you the idea and a clear "done when". You plan it, build it with AI coding agents (Cursor), review what the agent wrote, test it, and ship it.

This is not a prompt-only job. The agent writes a lot of the code, but you are the one who reads the diff, finds the bug, and says no to a bad change.

STACK

• Next.js and TypeScript
• Supabase (PostgreSQL, SQL migrations)
• Vercel, Cloudflare R2
• A background job queue on a Linux VPS
• External AI APIs (video, image, LLM)
• GitHub with a protected main branch and pull requests

YOU ARE A GOOD FIT IF

• You have 3+ years of real web development with React or Next.js.
• You can write SQL and TypeScript by hand, without an AI tool.
• You use AI coding agents every day and you know where they fail.
• You can explain a technical problem in three simple sentences.
• You write clear English.
• You can work full-time for one company.

NOT A FIT

• Agencies and teams. We hire one person.
• People who can only prompt and cannot read the code.
• People with several other clients at the same time.

HIRING PROCESS

1. A 14-minute online test (code reading, multiple choice). We send you the link in chat right after you apply.
2. A 20-minute written test (a small function, one SQL query, three short answers).
3. A short live call with screen share.

We do not read CVs first. The test decides who moves on, and we reply to everyone who passes step 1.
