Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain full stack applications using Python on the backend and React on the frontend.

Now we are looking for a Strong Middle Fullstack JavaScript Developer who can independently drive tasks, make architectural decisions, and maintain high code quality across the stack.

This role is best suited for someone with 4+ years of commercial experience, a strong engineering mindset, and the ability to work autonomously.

Experience with AI tools (e.g. Claude) is expected, as we actively use them in our development processes.

Key Requirements

Frontend:

• Proficiency in React (modern hooks-based and class-based components).
• Experience with React Query, Redux, and other modern React libraries.
• Strong TypeScript skills — ability to write maintainable, type-safe code.
• Knowledge of CSS-in-JS solutions like Styled Components or Emotion.
• Familiarity with Webpack, Vite, or other modern build tools.
• Experience with Next.js (SSR, API routes, etc.) is a strong plus.
• Experience with WebSockets and real-time data handling (e.g., Socket.io).

Backend:

• Strong knowledge of Node.js and Express.
• Experience working with NestJS and a solid understanding of its architecture
• Experience with MongoDB (Mongoose or native driver).
• Ability to design and consume RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of authentication/authorization flows (JWT, OAuth, etc.).
• Basic understanding of database performance and query optimization.

Additional Expectations:

• Solid theoretical knowledge of JavaScript and its core principles.

• Strong knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

• Strong knowledge of design and architectural patterns, SOA design & web service development.
• Strong understanding of development processes.

About the role

We're hiring in partnership with a global consulting company for a project with a major UK-based media & telecom company.

You'll join a newly formed SFV Tooling team — building internal tooling that helps editorial staff create and manage short-form video content across the organisation. Greenfield product, cross-functional Agile team, real impact on how media content is produced at scale.

React frontend + Node.js/TypeScript backend. AWS infrastructure. High standards for code quality, testing and operational excellence.

• Lead design and development of complex product features end-to-end
• Review code, give constructive feedback, raise the bar for the whole team
