About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Power System Modelling Engineer / Software Developer to join our team and contribute to the full lifecycle of power system modelling, simulation, and analysis projects. You will focus primarily on steady-state and dynamic power system simulations, network analysis, grid integration studies, and power flow calculations, while also engaging in data handling, scripting, automation, and toolchain development.

This role combines deep power systems expertise, analytical thinking, and software development skills to deliver high-quality modelling results and technical insights for our clients across the European energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in the design, implementation, testing, and analysis of power system models using commercial tools such as PSS/E (Siemens) or DigSilent PowerFactory, and open-source tools such as PyPSA, PyPowSyBl, or pandapower.
• Perform load flow, contingency analysis, short-circuit calculations, dynamic simulations, and grid stability assessments to support transmission and distribution system planning.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 2–7 years of relevant professional experience in power system modelling and simulation.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with at least one commercial power system simulation tool (PSS/E, PowerFactory, ETAP, PowerWorld) or open-source equivalent (PyPSA, PyPowSyBl, pandapower).
• Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and power system analysis workflows.
• Solid understanding of power system fundamentals: load flow, fault analysis, dynamic stability, voltage regulation, and protection systems.
• Strong skills in data handling, processing, and visualization of network and simulation data.
• English language proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.

About the Role

We are building an agentic document-processing platform that autonomously extracts, validates, and routes financial documents through complex approval workflows - without manual intervention. The system combines LLM orchestration, MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, and enterprise API integrations into a single AI-driven pipeline.

We are looking for a Junior Full-Stack Developer to join a small senior team. You will work on real features - backend services, frontend components, database queries - and gain structured mentorship on a production AI product. No prior AI or LLM experience required.

This is a learning role with clear growth expectations. Within 12–18 months, you are expected to reach an independent Mid-level engineer on the full stack, including the AI orchestration layer.

Core: JavaScript/TypeScript (async, basic OOP), React (hooks, components), SQL (queries + indexes), Git, HTTP/REST, English B1+.

Plus: any backend framework (NestJS/FastAPI), deeper TypeScript, Docker, PostgreSQL; bonus/growth — LLM APIs, MCP/agents, React Query/Zustand, OpenTelemetry.

What You’ll Work On

Backend Development

• Build and maintain REST API endpoints using NestJS (Node.js / TypeScript) or FastAPI (Python)
• Write and optimize PostgreSQL queries, design simple schema additions, run migrations
• Add unit and integration tests; fix bugs identified in code review
• Integrate third-party REST APIs under senior guidance

Frontend Development

• Build React 18 + TypeScript components for document dashboards and approval workflows
• Connect UI to live backend APIs; replace mock data, handle loading and error states
• Work with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui component library
• Implement real-time status updates via Server-Sent Events (SSE)

AI Components (Mentored)

• Learn how the MCP server works: tools, context management, structured outputs
• Make calls to LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) using existing patterns; extend prompt templates
• Understand document extraction pipeline and help build UI for reviewing AI decisions
• Gradually take on AI-adjacent tasks as confidence grows

Infrastructure & Quality

• Work with Docker and docker-compose for local development
• Create and update GitHub Actions workflows for simple CI tasks

• Follow code review feedback and improve over time

You will become part of the Smart City ecosystem - a large-scale software product for the Middle East market. This is a fully agile, product-oriented environment with real users and a tangible impact on urban infrastructure.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust backend applications using Node.js and NestJS in a monorepo and microservices environment.
• Embrace and operate within a T-shaped approach, being ready to extend expertise beyond backend tasks to ensure end-to-end delivery of features.
• Work with PostgreSQL (AWS RDS) and Redis to design, implement, and optimize database and caching solutions.
• Develop and maintain integrations with various AWS services including SQS, S3, Lambda, IAM, System Manager, EC2, and EKS/ECS for cloud-native applications.
• Contribute to containerization and deployment processes using Docker, including building images and pushing to registries, implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab runners.
• Implement and configure monitoring and observability using Prometheus and Grafana to ensure system health and performance.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders and other developers to understand business requirements, translate them into high-quality technical solutions that meet those needs.
• Troubleshoot and debug backend issues, optimizing code to enhance performance and maintainability.

• Stay current with the latest technologies and best practices, and promote continuous learning and self-development within the team. Mentor other team members, providing guidance and sharing your knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in backend development with a focus on Node.js, NestJS, and related technologies.
• Knowledge or experience in Frontend development (specifically Next.js) is a significant plus.
• Knowledge or experience with automated tests (integration, E2E) is a significant plus.
• Willingness and mindset to work in a T-shaped model, contributing to various stages of the development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with microservices architectures and monorepo environments.
• Experience with PostgreSQL (AWS RDS), Redis, and backend data management.
• Knowledge of AWS services including SQS, S3, Lambda, IAM, EC2, and EKS/ECS.
• Understanding of Docker and CI/CD pipelines, with some experience using GitLab runners.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Ability to document backend designs and processes clearly.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a drive to create high-quality, performant code.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in an agile environment.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members and stakeholders.
• English at Upper-Intermediate level and above.
