🌟About the Role:

This is a hands-on Senior Backend Engineer role in the central platform team, focused on developing and scaling the core services behind a cybersecurity platform. The role involves designing and maintaining APIs, building reliable backend systems, and contributing to AI-driven features used in production. In collaboration with cross-functional teams, you’ll help shape system architecture, improve performance and observability, and ensure the platform remains stable and scalable. The work has a direct impact on product capabilities, integrations, and the overall user experience.

📈Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services powering the platform (primarily Python/FastAPI-based microservices)
• Design, build, and evolve APIs used across internal services and external integrations
• Ensure API reliability, scalability, and clear communication between distributed services
• Contribute to building scalable and reliable distributed systems (messaging, data flow, service communication)
• Participate in development of AI-powered features (LLM integrations, prompt-based workflows)
• Improve system quality: testing, observability, performance, and reliability
• Collaborate with other teams when working across multiple services and repositories
• Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted coding, to improve productivity and code quality

💻Required Competence and Skills:

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Python
• Strong hands-on experience with FastAPI
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Experience working with APIs (design, integration, service-to-service communication)
• Experience with async messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, SQS, SNS or similar)
• Hands-on experience with AWS, including building and running cloud-based services using managed components
• Experience working with Docker / containerized environments
• Experience working with AI tools and coding agents (e.g., Claude or similar) in daily development workflows

We're looking for a Senior Python Engineer to become the technical owner of the backend platform: you decide how it is built.

The MVP is live and it proved the product works. Now it has to become a platform that holds under load, over unreliable networks, on a 24/7 production system - which means new services designed properly, an engineering standard that does not exist yet (Spec-Driven Development, AI-powered pipelines, CI/CD, review), and the old shortcuts retired along the way.

What you'll do

• Take full ownership of the backend: Django, DRF, FastAPI services, Celery, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, Redis, and the OPC UA components
• Audit the existing MVP end to end and define the refactoring strategy.
• Design reliable failover for site connectivity so telemetry and commands keep working over unstable networks
• Balance fast product validation against long-term platform stability, and re-prioritize when the business shifts
• Build AI-powered engineering workflows (agentic pipelines) and make Spec-Driven Development the standard
• Work with cybersecurity specialists on IEC 62443 and translate its requirements into platform architecture
• Set the engineering standards: code quality, reviews, CI/CD, testing, API stability

Must have

• 6+ years of commercial Python, with strong production experience across: Django and DRF, FastAPI (Pydantic v2), Celery, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker / Docker Compose, pytest and CI/CD
• System design, hands-on: you have defined service boundaries, API contracts, data flows and scalable architectures for production - and can walk through decisions you made and what they cost
• Authorization models by design: RBAC, least privilege, Django/DRF permission systems, object-level permissions, and consistent enforcement across distributed services
• Resilient third-party integrations: retries with exponential backoff, rate-limit handling, Redis caching and invalidation strategies, graceful degradation when an upstream service goes down
• OPC UA - working knowledge: client/server model, namespaces, subscriptions, security modes
• AI-driven engineering: contract-first / Spec-Driven Development (OpenAPI/Swagger, Pydantic, gRPC), plus experience building or using agentic pipelines - CrewAI, LangGraph, or your own orchestration - to automate code generation, tests, documentation, review or integration validation

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy production-ready computer vision algorithms for image and video analysis in GIS-related applications
- Build end-to-end perception pipelines – data collection, preprocessing, model development, deployment, and monitoring
- Integrate CV components into operational products in close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams
- Optimize algorithms for performance, reliability, and scalability in real-time and resource-constrained environments
- Develop and deploy Visual Place Recognition (VPR) systems for geo-localization and scene understanding tasks
- Implement and optimize CV algorithms on embedded and hardware-accelerated platforms, ensuring stable and efficient inference at the edge

Requirements:
- Expert-level Python – this is our primary engineering language. You must be comfortable writing clean, efficient, production-quality Python code
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in computer vision and applied machine learning
- Deep working knowledge of core CV and ML libraries: OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and related tooling
- Solid understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and model development workflows end-to-end
- Hands-on experience with Visual Place Recognition (VPR) algorithms and techniques, including descriptor-based retrieval, sequence matching, and localization under varying conditions
- Proven ability to port, optimize, and run CV/ML models on embedded devices and edge hardware (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms)
- Proven experience with image processing, model training, and evaluation methodologies
- Ability to translate research into reliable engineering outputs with minimal supervision
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field – or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Strong analytical thinking and clear communication in a cross-cultural, fast-moving team.

Would be a plus:
- Experience with graphics APIs: OpenGL, OpenGLES, or Direct3D
- Background in graphical algorithms, 3D rendering, or computational geometry
- Familiarity with embedded systems or hardware-accelerated proces

You will join the Data365 team, a product that helps extract data from online platforms and social media. Data365 solutions are used by international companies for social listening, media monitoring, brand reputation management, and digital content analytics.

We are looking for a Python developer with at least 4 years of commercial development experience, knowledge of data scraping tools in Python, and experience scraping data from web pages and APIs to help us complete our ongoing tasks of data scraping, parser support, and development of data collection functionality. • Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries without using an ORM.
