Psychable is the leading online community connecting individuals with professional, trusted psychedelic therapists, clinics, and wellness practitioners. We operate a content-rich WordPress platform with a practitioner directory, tiered membership program, integration courses, and a growing ecosystem of healing professionals, serving hundreds of thousands of monthly visitors in one of the fastest-evolving sectors in health and wellness.

We are founder-led, mission-driven, and independent. We are at a critical inflection point: the vision is clear, the audience is growing, and the infrastructure needs to match the ambition.
 

Why This Role Exists

Psychable has built meaningful traction on a WordPress foundation with a small, scrappy team. But we've reached the ceiling of what manual processes and off-the-shelf plugins can support. We need someone who can look at what we've built: the directory, the membership tiers, the content engine, the data we're sitting on, the practitioner relationships, and architect the systems that turn all of it into a scalable, revenue-generating machine.

This is not a "maintain the website" role. This is a build-the-engine role.

We need someone who thinks AI-first, not as a buzzword, but as an operational philosophy. Someone who reaches for automation before manual process, who sees a spreadsheet of thousands retreat centers and immediately thinks about enrichment pipelines, who looks at our practitioner onboarding flow and sees where an AI agent could reduce it from 12 steps to 3.

What You'll Build & Own

Platform & Infrastructure

• Evolve our WordPress ecosystem, optimize, extend, or architect the path beyond it as needed
• Build and maintain the practitioner directory with intelligent match/search, filtering, booking integrations, and lead routing that actually works at the membership tier level 
• Implement payment systems, subscription management, and membership automation that reduce manual intervention to near-zero
• Ensure site performance, security, uptime, and SEO technical health across the platform

AI-Powered Automation

• Design and deploy AI agents and workflows that automate practitioner onboarding, lead distribution, content publishing, email/SMS campaign triggers, and data enrichment
• Build internal tools powered by LLMs (Claude, GPT, or equivalent) for content generation, data processing, and operational support
• Create automated pipelines for scraping, enriching, and activating practitioner and retreat center databases from public directories
• Implement AI-driven personalization, matching individuals with the right practitioners based on modality, location, availability, and fit

Data & Growth Systems

• Build the data layer we're missing: CRM integrations, analytics dashboards, membership metrics, practitioner engagement tracking, and revenue attribution
• Design outreach and enrichment systems that turn raw directory data into actionable sales and partnership pipelines
• Connect the dots between our content (SEO), our directory (discovery), our memberships (revenue), and our community (retention) with measurable, instrumented flows

Compliance & Trust

• All messaging systems (email, SMS) must be TCPA/10DLC compliant  
• Health content touches YMYL territory; any AI-generated or AI-assisted content pipelines must respect these standards
• Data privacy, practitioner confidentiality, and platform security are table stakes

Who You Are

You build with AI as a first principle, not an afterthought. You use Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar tools daily, not because someone told you to, but because you can't imagine working without them. You've shipped real things with AI agents, not just experimented.

You're a full-stack generalist who leans toward backend and systems. You can wire up a WordPress site, build an API, write a Python script to enrich thousands of records, deploy a Next.js frontend, and configure a CI/CD pipeline, all in the same week. You don't need a team of five to get something live. You lean it, do it yourself and get it done, even with AI agents.

You think in revenue, not just in code. When you look at a practitioner directory with tiered memberships, you see the funnel. You understand that the booking integration isn't a feature request, it's how members justify their $600/year. You ask "what does this unlock for the business?" before "what framework should I use?"

You're comfortable in ambiguity. We're a very resourceful team. Requirements won't always be spec'd out. You'll sometimes get a voice note and a Notion page and need to turn it into a working system. That excites you, not frustrates you.

You care about the mission. You don't need to be a psychedelic practitioner, but you understand that this work matters, that connecting people with the right healer at the right time can change a life. You approach the platform with that gravity.

Technical Environment

Current stack:

• WordPress  
• PHP / MySQL

• GHL or similar

• Various WordPress plugins for directory, membership, and payments

What we expect you to bring or introduce:

• Python for automation, scraping, data enrichment, and AI agent workflows
• Experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI) and building production AI workflows, not just prompting, but chaining, function calling, RAG, and agent architectures
• Modern frontend (React/Next.js) if and when we evolve beyond WordPress for specific surfaces
• API design and integration (payment processors, booking systems, CRMs, third-party directories)
• CI/CD, version control, and deployment best practices
• Familiarity with SEO technical requirements (site speed, structured data, crawlability, Core Web Vitals)

Nice to Have

• Experience building or scaling a marketplace or directory platform
• Background in health, wellness, or regulated industries
• Familiarity with Clay, Apollo, or similar data enrichment tools
• WordPress plugin development or WP REST API experience
• Experience with HIPAA-adjacent data handling
