You will work on improving existing solutions’ accuracy and developing AI agents that work with documents (XML, Excel, PDF), execute workflows, integrate with third-party services, and store data in vector databases.

     

    🟠 About the project: Our client is an established Silicon Valley company in the insurance industry. They provide headless connectivity infrastructure for insurance carriers. By turning back-end business logic into reusable components, carriers reduce support costs, accelerate time to market, handle more distributor deals, and improve data quality and distributor satisfaction.

     

    🟠 Qualifications:

     

    • Strong programming skills in Python and knowledge of React;
    • Experience with agent frameworks, preferably MCP (Model Context Protocol) or equivalent, enabling agents to interact with core application layers;
    • Strong knowledge of prompt engineering techniques;
    • Hands-on experience in building automated evaluations and preparing datasets;
    • Familiarity with LLM monitoring and tracing tools (e.g., LangSmith).
    • Strong general problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to complex, flexible tasks (β€œflexible intelligence”);
    • Good command of English (both written and spoken) for effective team collaboration;
    • Experience working in small, cross-functional teams and collaborating with engineering leadership.

     

    🟠 Would be a plus:

     

    • Java for tweaking underlying APIs;
    • European location, especially Portugal, for better overlap.

     

    🟠 Responsibilities:

     

    • Collaborate with the team to improve AI agent accuracy and run various experiments;
    • Develop AI agents capable of ingesting documents (XML, Excel, PDF), executing workflows, integrating with third-party services, and writing to vector databases;
    • Implement and maintain integrations between AI agents and core application layers;
    • Work with the team to design, optimize, and test AI-driven workflows;
    • Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager and the AI features team (~6–7 people) to deliver solutions.

    • Demonstrated success in owning P&L, hitting revenue targets, and managing business operations.
