Key Responsibilities

• Own the applied research portfolio: research themes, hypotheses, expected impact, and success criteria. Decide which initiatives to start and which to stop, in agreement with the Head of Engineering Excellence Center (HCEE) and in line with delivery priorities.
• Commission and oversee external R&D at partners (universities, research institutes, state bodies, individual experts) within agreed security and access boundaries.

Обовʼязки:

• Проєктувати, розробляти та підтримувати batch/streaming data pipelines і data services.
• Приймати технічні рішення щодо ingestion, orchestration, storage, трансформацій і delivery.
• Будувати ETL/ELT-рішення з використанням Python, Airflow, Cron.
• Інтегрувати дані з API, логів, NoSQL, IoT/embedded-джерел та внутрішніх сервісів.

Вимоги:

• Значний досвід як Senior / Lead Software Engineer, Data Engineer або Backend Engineer у data-intensive середовищі.
• Сильний Python і досвід побудови production-ready рішень.
• Досвід роботи з Apache Airflow.
• Досвід роботи з MongoDB або іншими NoSQL-рішеннями.
• Сильне розуміння проєктування баз даних і data models: schema design, indexing, normalization/denormalization.
• Досвід роботи з великими обсягами даних, high-throughput або streaming workloads.
• Досвід із Azure Blob Storage або аналогічними object storage.
• Впевнене знання SQL та оптимізації запитів.
• Глибоке розуміння ETL/ELT, incremental processing, datalake/warehouse principles.

Overview

We are looking for an experienced UAV Pilot-Technician (multirotor) to join the flight team responsible for testing our flagship R&D product — a GPS-denied alternative navigation system. The candidate must confidently operate drones, be technically literate, have a deep understanding of UAV core components, and hands-on experience with Ardupilot-based systems.

The role combines hands-on piloting of multirotor UAVs with testing and technical support of all flight-related aspects.

Responsibilities

• Pilot multirotor UAVs & fixed-wings in field-testing scenarios
• Perform pre-flight checks and UAV setup
• Maintain airframes and supporting equipment
• Support flight planning and adherence to safety procedures

We are looking for a Middle / Senior Computer Vision / Deep Learning Engineer to extend our onboard navigation capabilities with modern perception and learning-based methods.

This is a hands-on R&D role: you work from research and prototypes to production on edge hardware, collaborate with software, and flight teams, and help shape how new CV/DL features are built and shipped. The role suits someone who can follow state-of-the-art work, implement what fits our constraints, and care about real-world performance—not only offline benchmarks.

Responsibilities

Relocalization & navigation

• Design and develop satellite, map, and semantic navigation capabilities that improve the overall quality of our navigation
• Build and maintain pipelines for map and reference-data preparation before missions
• Extend the existing visual-inertial navigation stack with relocalization and map-based aiding features
• Develop training pipelines for these tasks (data preparation, training, evaluation, and iteration)
• Create utilities that make map preloading and mission setup convenient for operators and integrators

Research & implementation

• Track relevant research and industry approaches; prototype and adopt methods where they clearly improve the product
• Reimplement or adapt algorithms when off-the-shelf solutions do not fit our data, hardware, or latency requirements
• Define evaluation metrics and acceptance criteria for new features before field and deployment rollouts

Edge deployment & production

• Optimize models and inference for target onboard hardware

We are looking for a Junior / Middle Software Engineer to strengthen our product software team.

This is a hands-on role on onboard navigation product software: you support and extend the system, build and improve tooling, and help keep releases reliable through simulation, replay, and hardware-in-the-loop validation.

The role suits someone who likes understanding how complex software behaves end to end, writes clear code and tests, and wants to work on real UAV systems with experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

System development

• Implement and maintain parts of the onboard product software and supporting services
• Develop internal tools, automation, and utilities used across development and release workflows
• Integrate new features into the production codebase with stable behavior, logging, and configuration

Product software support & verification

• Support, test, and debug components of the onboard navigation product software
• Verify algorithm and integration changes before release: unit tests, simulation scenarios, replay workflows, and hardware-in-the-loop checks
• Investigate failures from CI, field logs, and developer reports; reproduce issues and help resolving them
• Extend test coverage and internal utilities where routine checks can be automated

Engineering quality & delivery

• Improve and maintain CI/CD for the product codebase (builds, Docker images, automated test pipelines, release checks)
• Optimize hot paths and tooling where profiling shows clear wins
• Follow team code standards, participate in code review, and help keep the codebase maintainable

Simulation & replay tooling

• Run and maintain simulation and replay-based validation (software-in-the-loop, logged flight replay, autopilot estimator replay)
• Help expand test scenarios and regression checks as the product and integration surface grow
• Work with flight and navigation teams to turn real incidents into repeatable test cases
   

Required skills & experience

• 1+ years of professional software development experience, or strong equivalent from internships, pet projects, or open source with evidence of shipped work
• Solid Python: reading & extending existing codebases, writing tests, debugging
• Experience with multi-threading, multi-processing, or async applications
• Comfort with Linux as a daily development environment
• Experience with Git and collaborative workflows
• Basic understanding of automated testing (pytest or similar) and why regressions matter in production systems
• Ability to read logs, configs, and stack traces and communicate findings clearly to the team
• Docker for local and CI environments
• GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD
• English B2+ for documentation and technical discussion; Ukrainian for day-to-day team communication

• YAML-driven configuration (e.g. Hydra-style setups)
