About the Project

An AI-powered nutrition platform embedded in the clinical pathway, starting with chronic pain care. Patients use a mobile app to log meals, track symptoms, and chat with an AI nutrition assistant, while dietitians use a web app to build protocols and approve AI-drafted plans. 

About the Role

You will be the only front-end and mobile engineer, owning the patient mobile app and the dietitian web app end to end. You'll shape features together with the Founding Engineer and the Founders rather than wait for a detailed spec, and you'll see quickly how patients and dietitians respond to what you ship. Over six months, the role can grow into owning core AI features and protocol tools.

Responsibilities

Dietitian web app

• Improve the clinician workflow: session notes, recipe library, and the front end for AI-assisted protocol generation
• Build review-and-approve flows for AI-drafted protocols

Patient mobile app (iOS and Android)

• Own mobile releases to the App Store and Google Play (ramp-up on the release process is supported during the first month)
• Improve the UX around wearables integration, Voice AI features (UI), weight tracking, and recipe / grocery list navigation
• Suggest and drive product improvements, not just implement specs

Engineering

• Set up CI, automated mobile builds, and tests, and ensure HIPAA-grade handling of patient data on the client
• Evolve interactive AI prototypes built by the CEO into production
• Ship fixes and features for the clinics going live in November

Requirements

• 5+ years building production apps with React Native and TypeScript
• Experience shipping to the App Store and Google Play (hands-on release experience is a plus; we'll help you ramp up)
• Strong React web experience (React 19, Vite; react-admin or MUI is a plus)
• Experience building UIs on top of AI services: streaming responses, slow or failed generations, review-and-approve flows
• Daily, fluent use of AI coding tools, and comfort vibe-coding a prototype with a non-engineer founder
• Strong product instinct: you turn a conversation into a good feature without a detailed spec

Nice to Have

• HealthKit or Health Connect (wearables integration is on the roadmap)
• Owning AI features end to end (prompts, model choice, quality checks), with a shipped LLM feature you can show
• Healthcare or regulated-data experience (HIPAA, GDPR) and accessibility (WCAG)
• Mobile CI/CD (EAS, fastlane, GitHub Actions)
• Design systems, Storybook
• Early-stage startup experience

Experience & Soft Skills

• English C1 or higher: fluent written and spoken, and you enjoy live brainstorming on calls
• Proactive communicator: confirms priorities, flags trade-offs early, sends a short weekly written update
• Autonomous and comfortable with ambiguity: you propose solutions rather than wait for a ticket
• Optimistic about AI: you believe models can generate strong drafts and you design the review flows that make them safe
• Available until 9 pm Kyiv time to overlap with the US team
