Chief Delivery Officer

We’re looking for a Chief Delivery Officer to take end-to-end ownership of the company’s Delivery organization and its business performance.

This role goes beyond portfolio governance. The CDO will be responsible for delivery strategy, project economics, leadership capability, client outcomes, and the continued development of the company’s delivery model. The role combines executive-level ownership with hands-on involvement in critical projects, client escalations, and operational challenges.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company-wide Delivery strategy in line with business objectives.
• Take full ownership of Delivery performance across all projects, client accounts, and delivery teams.
• Lead and develop the Project and Delivery Management organization, strengthening accountability, decision-making, and ownership at the management level.
• Maintain executive-level visibility across the portfolio, including project health, risks, capacity, budgets, margins, utilization, and key dependencies.
• Own resource planning, allocation, bench management, capacity forecasting, and Delivery organizational structure.
• Improve project profitability, Delivery efficiency, forecasting accuracy, and sustainable account growth.
• Establish practical Delivery governance, standards, metrics, and reporting without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Identify systemic risks and performance issues, define improvement initiatives, and ensure their implementation.
• Step into business-critical projects, complex client situations, and escalations when senior leadership involvement is required.
• Build strong relationships with key clients and participate in strategic discussions, account development, and executive-level escalations.
• Partner with Sales, Account Management, Engineering, Finance, and Recruitment on presale, estimation, staffing, project setup, and account growth.
• Support the evolution of Delivery practices in response to changing client expectations, AI-enabled software development, and broader market transformation.

• Provide the executive team with a clear view of Delivery performance, risks, capacity needs, and improvement priorities.

   

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software Delivery, including significant leadership responsibility across project, program, portfolio, or Delivery management.
• 3+ years of experience as a Head of Delivery, VP of Delivery, Chief Delivery Officer, or Delivery Director with end-to-end ownership of the entire Delivery function.
• Proven experience managing a Delivery organization of 100+ specialists through a strong Project and Delivery Management layer.
• Experience overseeing multiple client accounts and project portfolios at the company or business-unit level.
• Proven responsibility for Delivery structure, manager performance, resource allocation, bench, capacity planning, and utilization.
• Strong experience leading, developing, and strengthening Project and Delivery Managers.
• Experience in an outsourcing, consulting, or software services company.
• Strong understanding of Delivery economics, including P&L, budgets, margins, utilization, forecasting, scope, and project profitability.
• Experience managing different commercial and engagement models, including T&M and fixed-price projects.
• Strong client-facing experience, including strategic account discussions, presale, project discovery, and complex escalations.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, estimation, risk management, resource planning, and Delivery methodologies.
• Ability to identify systemic issues, make well-grounded decisions, and translate them into practical organizational changes.
• Ability to combine strategic leadership with direct involvement when critical Delivery situations require it.
• Experience adapting Delivery processes or operating models to significant market, organizational, or technological changes.
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher for regular communication with international clients and senior stakeholders.
