Release Coordinator

Job Summary 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Release Coordinator to plan, coordinate and communicate software releases across PAR Retail’s development, QA and infrastructure teams. The role connects engineering, operations and business stakeholders so that releases are predictable, low-risk and well documented. 

Key Responsibilities 

Release Planning & Coordination 

• Coordinate and support software releases across development, QA, and infrastructure. 
• Maintain release calendars and schedules, ensuring adherence to defined release processes. 
• Track release readiness activities and ensure all deployment prerequisites are completed. 
• Facilitate release Go/No-Go meetings and communicate release status to stakeholders. 
• Support deployment activities during scheduled release windows and assist with issue escalation and resolution. 

Change Management 

• Coordinate change requests and ensure compliance with organizational change management processes. 
• Review and validate change documentation, implementation plans, rollback plans, and risk assessments. 
• Collaborate with Change Advisory Boards (CAB) and stakeholders to ensure proper approval and scheduling of changes. 
• Monitor change success rates and identify opportunities for process improvements. 

Metrics & Data Analytics 

• Assist in collecting, analyzing, and reporting release and change management metrics. 
• Maintain dashboards and reports to measure:  
• Release success rates 
• Deployment frequency 
• Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) 
• Release-related incidents 
• Release schedule adherence 
• Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities using data-driven insights. 
• Present release metrics and operational performance reports to the release management team. 

Agile Delivery Support 

• Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and technical teams to support Agile release planning. 
• Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning . 
• Track dependencies, risks, and impediments affecting release schedules. 

Communication & Stakeholder Management 

• Coordinate with technical and business stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout the release lifecycle. 
• Maintain release documentation, knowledge articles, and operational procedures. 

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 
• 2-3 years of experience in Release Management, Change Management, Project Coordination, Software Delivery, or a related technology role. 
• Experience supporting software releases in Agile or hybrid delivery environments. 
• Experience with release support, deployment coordination, and production readiness activities. 
• Experience analyzing metrics, reporting, and data analytics. 
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Proven professional experience with the following release tools: 
• Jira 
• GitHub 
• Jenkins 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience with:  
• Kargo 
• Spacelift 
• ServiceNow Change Management 
• Confluence 
• Experience building or maintaining custom metrics dashboards using Claude or other AI tooling 
• Experience supporting enterprise-level release management processes. 

Certifications (Suggested) 

One or more of the following certifications are highly desirable: 

• SAFe® Release Train Engineer (RTE) 
• SAFe® Agile Certification 
• Certified Agile Project Management Certification 
• Agile Change Management Certification
