About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Senior Python Engineer to join an international product development team.

In this hands-on role, you will design, build, and maintain backend services, enhance existing functionality, and develop new product features using Python, modern frameworks, cloud technologies, and distributed systems.

You will have the opportunity to influence architectural decisions, participate in technical discussions, and take ownership of solutions from design to production.

A key part of this role is the active use of AI-assisted development tools and coding agents. We are looking for someone who already uses these technologies extensively in daily development to accelerate delivery, solve engineering challenges, and maintain high code quality.

While the main focus is backend engineering, we value a flexible mindset and a willingness to occasionally contribute to frontend or infrastructure-related tasks.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python backend services and FastAPI-based microservices.
• Build and enhance APIs, internal service communication, and external integrations.
• Optimize distributed systems, asynchronous messaging, and data processing workflows.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical reviews, and feature development.
• Develop and support AI-powered functionality, including LLM integrations and prompt-based workflows when applicable.
• Ensure high standards of performance, scalability, testing, observability, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues, resolve defects, and improve existing services.
• Collaborate across teams and repositories to deliver complex technical solutions.
• Integrate AI-powered coding tools into daily development and help shape best practices for their effective use.
   

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional Python backend development experience.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Proven experience building enterprise-level web services with FastAPI, Django, or similar Python frameworks.
• Hands-on experience designing APIs, building integrations, and implementing service-to-service communication.
• Experience with asynchronous messaging technologies, such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or equivalent solutions.
• Practical experience developing, deploying, and maintaining cloud applications using AWS and its managed services.
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• Strong practical experience with AI coding tools and agents, actively used as part of everyday software development rather than occasional assistance.
• Ability to work independently, make technical decisions, and take full ownership of features from design to delivery.
• Excellent English communication skills.
   

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating LLMs, AI models, or AI-powered features into production applications.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment workflows.
• Experience building data-intensive applications and processing large volumes of information.
• Frontend development experience, particularly with Angular.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, or platform engineering.
• Previous technical leadership experience or an interest in growing into a leadership role.
