GBSFO is looking for a Middle PHP Backend Developer to join our professional team in Odesa.

We are looking for a developer with strong PHP backend skills who actively uses Claude (preferably Claude Code) as part of their daily development workflow.

🎯 Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of PHP and practical experience in backend development.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), MVC architecture, and SOLID principles.
• Experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel and/or Symfony.
• Ability to write clean, structured, maintainable, and scalable code.
• Understanding of software design patterns and programming paradigms.
• Confident use of interfaces, abstract classes, inheritance, and other OOP concepts.
• Experience with ORM (Object-Relational Mapping).
• Knowledge of MySQL and MongoDB, including database design and working with large datasets.
• Ability to optimize database queries and application performance.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and experience with third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks and libraries such as jQuery, Backbone, React, Angular, or Vue.
• Understanding of web application security fundamentals.
• Confident use of Git and ability to navigate, understand, and maintain existing codebases.

🤖 Claude & AI-Assisted Development (Required)

We expect our developers to actively integrate AI tools into their everyday work.

• Regular, hands-on use of Claude, preferably Claude Code, in real development tasks.
• Practical experience using Claude for writing, debugging, refactoring, and optimizing PHP code.
• Ability to use Claude to understand existing codebases, investigate issues, and implement new functionality.
• Experience using AI to assist with writing tests, reviewing code, and identifying potential improvements.
• Ability to provide clear context and instructions to Claude to achieve reliable results.
• Understanding of AI-generated code and the ability to independently review, test, and validate proposed solutions.
• Interest in continuously improving personal development workflows through AI tools.

Important: We are looking for a PHP backend developer who already uses Claude in practice, not someone who is simply interested in learning AI tools.

➕ Additional Skills

• Knowledge of Linux and macOS.
• Experience working with complex third-party APIs, including payment systems, social platforms, and Google services.
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Knowledge of JavaScript.
• Experience writing automated tests.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development environments.

• Develop, maintain, and improve PHP backend applications.
• Build and optimize APIs, database queries, and integrations with external services.
• Work with existing codebases, refactor legacy functionality, and improve application performance.
• Use Claude as part of your daily development process to accelerate implementation, debugging, testing, and refactoring.
• Review and validate AI-assisted solutions to ensure code quality, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with other developers, QA engineers, and project managers.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
• Continuously explore more efficient approaches to backend development.
