System Administrator/VoIP Engineer (Asterisk)

We are looking for a VoIP Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain our telephony infrastructure.
You will be responsible for configuring and optimizing VoIP systems, integrating telephony with internal services, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring stable and reliable operation.
We are looking for a hands-on specialist who can independently manage telephony infrastructure and take ownership of technical tasks from implementation to ongoing support.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain VoIP infrastructure based on Asterisk.
- Configure SIP trunks, endpoints, extensions, and call routing.
- Develop and maintain dial plans, IVR menus, call queues, and call forwarding scenarios.
- Integrate telephony systems with backend services, CRM platforms, and third-party APIs.
- Work with Asterisk AMI/ARI interfaces and automate telephony-related processes.
- Monitor system performance, investigate incidents, and troubleshoot SIP/RTP-related issues.
- Analyze logs and network traffic to identify and resolve connectivity and call-quality problems.
- Manage Linux-based servers and ensure system stability and security.
- Configure and maintain databases related to call records and telephony services.
- Implement updates, improvements, and new telephony features.
- Maintain technical documentation and configuration records.
- Collaborate with developers and infrastructure specialists on integrations and system improvements.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of practical experience in VoIP engineering, telephony administration, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience with Asterisk is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of SIP, RTP, NAT, codecs, and VoIP networking.
- Experience configuring SIP trunks, call routing, and dial plans.
- Practical experience with Linux server administration (Debian/Ubuntu).
- Understanding of telephony architecture and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Experience with AMI/ARI integrations or similar telephony APIs.
- Basic SQL knowledge and experience working with MySQL/MariaDB.
- Understanding of network security, firewalls, and VoIP infrastructure protection.
- Ability to independently investigate and resolve technical issues.
