General QA Engineer (Prediction Markets)

$

We're building a prediction-markets and order-book trading platform where prices move in real time and real money changes hands on every trade. We're looking for a QA Engineer to own the quality of that product end-to-end, from order entry and live market feeds to wallet flows, deposits, and settlement. You'll be the person the team trusts to say whether a release is ready, and the one who finds the bug before a user's balance does. If you like breaking things where correctness and money matter at the same time, this is that kind of product.

The work is mostly manual testing, scripts and automated smoke suites. You'll spend time near the most interesting parts of the system: order handling, real-time feeds, wallet flows, and the trading experience itself.

Technical Stack

- Product: React + TypeScript front end, Node.js + NestJS back end
- Real-Time: WebSockets / SSE, live market and order-book feeds
- Database: PostgreSQL, Redis
- Messaging: Kafka
- Web3: EVM chains, wallets (MetaMask, WalletConnect), testnets, block explorers
- Testing: browser devtools, Postman / curl, Playwright
- Scripting: TypeScript or Python
- Observability: Grafana, logs, and metrics
- Version Control: Git

What You'll Do

- Own quality end-to-end: join product discussions early, decide what needs testing, and sign off on releases.
- Test the money paths first: order placement, partial fills, positions, market resolution, payouts, deposits, and withdrawals.
- Test wallet and on-chain flows: connecting, approvals, gas, pending / stuck / replaced transactions, and chain switching.
- Verify below the UI: check balances and settlements against the database, inspect API and WebSocket traffic, and trace issues through logs.
- Script what you repeat: seed markets and test data, call APIs directly, and fire concurrent or duplicate requests to find races.
- Keep a small automated smoke suite healthy so every deploy gets a fast first check.
- File bugs a developer can act on immediately: clear steps, expected vs actual, request IDs or tx hashes, and logs.

What We're Looking For

- 2+ years of QA experience
- Strong exploratory testing with a risk-first mindset: you go after what can lose money before what looks wrong.
- Hands-on crypto experience as a user: wallets (MetaMask, WalletConnect), testnets, gas, approvals, and block explorers. You can tell a stuck transaction from a failed one.
- Trading basics: limit / market orders, partial fills, maker / taker, and how a prediction market resolves and pays out. You can work out the expected result before checking the UI.
- Comfortable with API testing (Postman / curl), browser devtools including WebSocket traffic, and SQL for checking data.
- Can write scripts in TypeScript to automate test data, API calls, and concurrency checks.
- Proficient with AI-assisted work: you use AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, and similar) daily to design test cases, write scripts, and triage logs, and you catch it when they're wrong. This is part of how we work day to day.
- Sound judgment, you know what blocks a release and what can ship with a ticket, and you raise questions only after doing your own homework.

Nice to Have

- Playwright or Cypress beyond the basics.
- Hands-on use of Polymarket, Kalshi, a CEX, or a perps DEX.
- QA on trading, fintech, iGaming / sportsbook, or other real-money / real-time systems.
- Load or concurrency testing
- Reading smart-contract test output

How We Work

- Small, flat team with a short path from idea to production.
- You own quality, not just test execution, and have a genuine say in how we ship.
- Open feedback, shared code, low ego.
- Developers own their unit tests; you own the bigger picture of what's covered and what's at risk.

What We Offer

- Fully remote work (Europe / Ukraine time zone).
- Competitive salary.
- Flat company structure: no bureaucracy.
- Opportunities for professional growth.
- Work-life balance with flexible working hours.
- Access to various learning resources and development programs.
- 20 days of vacation time.
- 5 illness days.
