Senior DataBase Engineer

We are looking for a DataBase Engineer who is passionate about designing reliable, scalable, and high-performing data solutions. In this role, you will help shape the data architecture of both new and existing products, collaborate closely with engineering teams, and contribute to the long-term scalability of our storage systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL;
• Practical experience with non-relational data stores, including Elasticsearch and Azure Table Storage;
• Solid understanding of OLTP design principles and common transactional workload patterns;
• Experience with query optimization and performance troubleshooting;
• Understanding of data normalization and denormalization principles;
• Basic database administration skills, including backup strategies, replication, and indexing;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Motivation to develop professionally in data and storage architecture;

• English proficiency sufficient for reading and working with technical documentation.

   

Responsibilities

• Assess the data storage architecture of new and existing projects;
• Review data models and provide recommendations for improving performance, scalability, and reliability;
• Help select the most suitable storage technology for each use case, including Elasticsearch, Azure Table Storage, Azure SQL, and PostgreSQL;
• Work closely with software engineers to introduce best practices when designing and implementing new data schemas;
• Improve database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query tuning;
• Identify potential bottlenecks and recommend practical solutions for transactional workloads;
• Contribute to the development of a long-term scaling strategy for the company’s data storage systems.

Will be a plus

• Experience designing data storage solutions for high-load or rapidly growing systems;
• Experience building or contributing to analytical platforms, OLAP solutions, or data warehouse;
• Familiarity with cloud-based data architecture and distributed storage systems;

• Experience with database monitoring and performance analysis tools.
