Senior Qualitative UX Researcher (Freelance)

We're looking for a senior qualitative user researcher to join a healthcare product engagement on a freelance basis in October, November, and potentially December. You'll run in-depth interviews and moderated usability sessions with mothers (and some healthcare professionals) from the US and Germany across the discovery and formative-testing phases of a connected-health product.

What you'll do

• Plan and run moderated, in-depth interviews and usability sessions with mothers, including new mothers and mothers of babies in intensive or specialist care.
• Cover both discovery (needs, behaviours, journeys, pain points) and formative testing (comprehension, usability, desirability of prototypes).
• Write discussion guides and screeners, moderate sessions and synthesise findings into clear, actionable insight for the design team.
• Work sensitively with participants on emotionally and medically delicate topics.

You have

• 6+ years in qualitative UX research, ideally in healthcare, femtech, or other regulated or sensitive domains.
• Strong moderation and synthesis skills, and the ability to turn research into design decisions.
• Comfort working in fast, iterative design cycles alongside designers and product teams.
• Fluent English.
• Fluent German and/or ability to travel to Berlin is a strong plus.
