Middle QA Engineer

📋 Role Overview

We’re looking for a Middle QA Engineer to join our team working on a humanitarian transparency platform.

You’ll work closely with the QA Lead and the product team, combining manual testing with test automation. You’ll help maintain and improve QA processes, ensure reliable releases, and test web applications, APIs, and integrations between services. Part of the platform's data is also shared with a companion service through its own APIs — from a testing perspective, this is treated like any other backend integration: verifying request/response contracts and data consistency between services, not specialized protocol-level work.
 

🧙‍♂️In this role, you will

• Build the QA process from scratch together with the QA Lead — test strategy, documentation, tooling.
• Perform functional, regression, exploratory, and cross-browser testing.
• Build and maintain automated tests for key regression and smoke scenarios.
• Report, verify, and track defects through resolution.
• Verify APIs via DevTools / Postman — payload, response, status codes, error handling.
• Create and maintain QA documentation: test plans, checklists, test cases, regression reports, release notes.
• Document your work and support knowledge sharing within the team.
• Plan and run release regression cycles, prioritize coverage by risk under the timebox.
• Test integration points between the platform and other backend services it exchanges data with — request/response contracts, data consistency across the API boundary, and how failures/retries are handled.
• Extend existing API test coverage to new services and endpoints as they're added, verifying that data passed between services arrives complete and unchanged.

👌 Role Requirements

• 2–3+ years of experience in QA for web applications.
• Strong manual testing skills: functional, regression, exploratory.
• Hands-on experience with test automation (Playwright, pytest, or similar).
• API testing experience (Postman or similar).
• Confident with browser DevTools.
• Ability to work independently within agreed priorities and escalate risks early.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodology.
• Experience creating and maintaining QA documentation (test plans, checklists, reports).
• Familiarity with data-heavy interfaces.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Nice to have:

• Experience testing PWA or mobile web applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests into them.
• Experience with performance or load testing basics.
• Experience with security testing basics.
• Background in projects involving data-heavy or dashboard-style interfaces.
• Experience organizing test cases in a test-case management system (e.g., QA Sphere, TestRail, or similar).
• Exposure to blockchain/Web3 concepts is a plus, not required.
