Cikumas GmbH, based in Kilchberg (Canton of Zurich, Switzerland), builds ClassOwl — an all-in-one school-management platform that replaces the patchwork of disconnected tools most schools run on today. Instead of re-entering the same student data into five or six separate systems (admissions, gradebook, invoicing, timetabling, government reporting), ClassOwl combines a Student Information System (SIS), Learning Management System (LMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) into one white-label platform, tailored to each school's own processes and branded as their own.
 

Who We're Looking For

We are hiring a Medium-Senior Technical Writer to own documentation across ClassOwl's platform — from internal technical references used by the development team to user-facing guides for schools using SIS, LMS and ERP modules. You'll work closely with developers, QA and the business analysis team to turn product knowledge into clear, structured, and accurate documentation that both technical and non-technical audiences can rely on.
 

Responsibilities

• create and maintain technical documentation for ClassOwl's platform (API references, internal specs, release notes)
• write user-facing guides and instructions for school staff (admissions, gradebook, invoicing, timetabling modules)
• work directly with developers and QA to understand new features before they ship, and translate them into documentation
• review and structure existing documentation, identify gaps, and keep materials up to date as the product evolves
• collaborate with the business analysis team to ensure documentation reflects actual user stories and requirements
• maintain consistency in terminology, tone and formatting across all documentation
   

What we expect

• 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer (Medium-Senior level)
• English at C1 level
• German at B2 level
• an analytical mindset — comfortable working with structured systems and translating complexity into clarity
• basic understanding of code/technical logic is enough; deep development experience is not required
• QA background is considered a relevant and welcome experience
• available to start within the next week
