Head of Data Analytics in Risk

Salary: $3000–3,500

A microfinance company is looking for an experienced Head of Risk Analytics to lead the Risk Analytics function and take responsibility for credit portfolio quality, development of scoring logic, and the efficiency of risk processes.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage key credit portfolio metrics: DPD, Default Rate, Delinquency Rate, NPL, Approval Rate, Cost of Risk, and portfolio profitability.

* Develop lending rules and scoring logic: formulate hypotheses, run tests, adjust approval criteria and credit limits.

* Lead the Risk Analytics team: assign tasks, monitor the quality of analysts’ work, and develop the team.

* Work hands-on with data using PostgreSQL / SQL: build data sets, analyze customer segments, and validate hypotheses.

* Prepare technical specifications for the IT team for implementing new risk rules and process changes, and control the accuracy of implementation.

* Build analytical reports and dashboards and prepare regular risk reporting for management.

* Work closely with the Risk Management team, monitor compliance with procedures, and ensure target performance indicators are achieved.

Requirements

* Proven experience in a leadership role in Risk Management / Risk Analytics.

* Mandatory experience in microfinance, online lending, or banking.

* Strong SQL skills and practical experience working with relational databases.

* Advanced Google Sheets and Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

* Strong understanding of credit product economics and the factors affecting profitability and risk.

* Experience managing a team and monitoring KPIs.

* Ability to build transparent and efficient analytical processes.

* Ability to translate business requirements into clear and well-structured technical specifications for IT teams.

Would Be a Plus

* Python for analytics and model development.

* Experience with BI tools: Metabase, Tableau, Power BI.

* Experience building credit scoring models from scratch.

* Experience working in European markets and understanding their regulatory environment.

* Experience developing and implementing anti-fraud rules.
