Job Description

• Education & experience: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus heavy experience in kernel development.
• Kernel Expertise: Deep engineering background working with the Linux kernel and ARM architecture.
• System Programming: Proficiency in C and deep understanding of OS-level integrations.
• OS Knowledge: Experience with Debian-family Linux internals and package management.
• Virtualization: Experience with KVM.QEMU, preferably on ARM.

Nice to have skills:

• Experienced in Free Range Routing (FRR)
   

Job Responsibilities

• Take ownership of kernel configuration and performance tuning specifically optimized for the new ARM hardware.
• Providing code reviews and cross-coverage for kernel patches.
• Migrate existing custom x86 kernel patches to support the ARM build for Debian.
• Investigate and mitigate potential architecture-specific integration issues, particularly around complex networking stacks.
   

Department/Project Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Infrastructure Team. The team is responsible for the low-level operating systems and custom Linux kernel builds powering our global fleet. To support the introduction of ARM servers, you will be tasked with rebasing our custom kernel patches for ARM, pipeline creation. Your work will be to ensure system stability, reproducible builds, and seamless integration of monitoring tools before these machines enter production.
