Junior Payments Onboarding Associate

About Us

We're hiring on behalf of our partner โ€” a company that powers the operations behind regulated and high-risk industries.

They give fast-moving businesses in these spaces the structure, compliance and talent they need to scale โ€” without slowing down.

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Onboarding and Relationship Associate to support onboarding with payment service providers, acquirers, electronic money institutions, and banking partners. You will help prepare accurate applications, coordinate requirements, keep cases moving, and build productive relationships across several jurisdictions and merchant profiles.

This is a development-focused role for someone early in their payments or fintech career. You will learn how different partners assess risk, documentation, payment flows, and commercial fit, while taking increasing ownership of cases with guidance from experienced colleagues.

What You Will Do

Onboarding Coordination

  • Support end-to-end onboarding with PSPs, acquirers, EMIs, and banking partners.
  • Collect, organize, and review KYB and KYC documents, application forms, and supporting information for completeness.
  • Coordinate follow-ups with internal teams, merchants, clients, and partners from initial request through approval and go-live.
  • Help explain onboarding requirements and operational next steps clearly to merchants and internal stakeholders.

Partner and Relationship Support

  • Maintain responsive, professional communication with payment and banking partners.
  • Support research and comparison of providers by industry fit, geography, onboarding feasibility, settlement flows, and commercial terms.
  • Record partner feedback and help identify why an application is delayed, declined, or requires additional information.
  • Contribute to strong long-term relationships by following through on requests accurately and on time.

Process and Tracking

  • Keep CRM records and internal trackers accurate, current, and easy for the team to follow.
  • Monitor outstanding requirements, deadlines, and next actions across multiple onboarding cases.
  • Flag risks, missing information, and bottlenecks early, and suggest practical improvements to the process.
  • Follow internal compliance procedures and escalate complex or higher-risk questions to senior colleagues.

What You Bring

  • Up to 2 years of relevant experience in fintech, payments, banking, operations, compliance, consulting, or client service; strong graduates with relevant internships are also encouraged to apply.
  • Basic understanding of KYB and KYC, payment flows, acquiring, and SEPA or SWIFT, with a willingness to deepen that knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail and the judgment to balance accuracy with timely progress.
  • Clear written and verbal English and confidence communicating with international partners and clients.
  • Good organization skills and the ability to manage several tasks and follow-ups without losing track of details.
  • A proactive, curious, and solutions-oriented approach, including the confidence to ask questions and escalate when needed.
  • Reliability and ownership: you close the loop on commitments and keep stakeholders informed.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to a PSP, acquirer, EMI, bank, payment gateway, or alternative payment method provider.
  • Familiarity with AML and KYC frameworks, governance structures, company formations, or corporate ownership documents.
  • Experience supporting merchants in regulated or high-risk industries.
  • Exposure to cross-border payments, multiple jurisdictions, or multi-entity business structures.

What We Offer

  • A fully remote role with an international and commercially driven team.
  • Hands-on exposure to global PSPs, acquirers, EMIs, banks, and growing fintech businesses.
  • Structured learning and increasing responsibility as your knowledge and confidence grow.
  • A clear opportunity to develop a career in payment and banking partnerships.
