Senior Scrum Master - Bucharest

Project Description:

The Securitization Technology team delivers and operates platforms that support the end-to-end lifecycle of securitization transactions, enabling funding, risk transfer, regulatory compliance, and reporting for the bank.
We are looking for a highly experienced and proactive Senior Scrum Master who acts as the operational leader of one or more Agile teams.
This is not a traditional Scrum Master role focused only on facilitating ceremonies. We need a person who takes ownership of delivery, drives execution, identifies risks early, removes blockers, challenges the status quo, and creates transparency across all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Ownership
• Act as the servant leader and operational driver for Agile teams.
• Develop a deep understanding of the business domain, roadmap, priorities, dependencies, and risks.
• Create a culture of accountability, ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Drive teams to execute against agreed objectives and commitments.
• Challenge teams constructively when delivery risks emerge.
Delivery Management
• Own end-to-end delivery governance for assigned teams.
• Track commitments, milestones, dependencies, risks, and blockers.
• Ensure timely escalation of issues with clear mitigation plans.
• Drive delivery predictability and continuous improvement of team performance.
• Monitor delivery metrics and identify corrective actions when trends deteriorate.

Stakeholder Management
• Build trusted relationships with Engineering Leads, Product Owners, Business stakeholders, Architects, and senior management.
• Facilitate alignment across multiple teams and domains.
• Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions clearly and proactively.
• Ensure stakeholders have transparency regarding delivery status and challenges.

Agile Excellence
• Facilitate Scrum and Agile ceremonies when they add value.
• Coach teams in Agile principles, collaboration, self-organization, and continuous improvement.
• Improve backlog quality, prioritization, planning, estimation, and flow efficiency.
• Help teams eliminate waste and focus on delivering customer value.

Risk & Dependency Management
• Maintain visibility of cross-team dependencies.
• Identify delivery risks early and drive resolution.
• Coordinate with external teams and vendors when required.
• Ensure no critical issue remains unmanaged or hidden.

Team Development
• Coach team members and stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of learning, feedback, and innovation.
• Promote engineering excellence and data-driven decision making.

Required Experience
• 5+ years of experience in Agile delivery environments.
• 5+ years as Scrum Master, Agile Lead, Delivery Lead, or similar role.
• Proven experience managing multiple Agile teams simultaneously.
• Strong experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and stakeholders without formal authority.
• Experience driving organizational change and Agile transformations.

Mandatory Skills Description:

The ideal candidates - strong experience in delivering IT projects and solutions end-to-end, preferably within the Banking and Financial Services industry.
Willing to come in the office 3 days / week.
