Senior DevOps Engineer

Role: DevOps Engineer (Senior Level)

Experience: 8+ years, combined development and systems administration

Duration: 6 months, with a good chance of extension based on performance

Location: Southern & Eastern Europe

A bit of context: Our client is a large international organization looking for a strong DevOps engineer, someone who's also comfortable on the development side and knows their way around infrastructure and newer tech (Kubernetes, AI/ML, Linux/UNIX). They'll be joining a mixed team of backend, frontend, and mobile developers, plus systems engineers, working on some genuinely interesting projects.

What they'll be doing:

- Architecting new services with the latest tech

- Designing and building infrastructure for new projects

- Integrating with third-party APIs

- Deploying services on AWS

- Building out CI/CD pipelines

- Monitoring and performance tuning

- Managing container orchestration (Kubernetes)

Must-haves:

- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production

- Solid grasp of CI/CD and automated deployments

- Strong infra background (Linux, Docker, AWS/Azure, Kubernetes)

- Comfortable with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, plus monitoring tools like Prometheus/Grafana

- Can code in at least one of Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or Java

- Quick to pick up new tools and technologies

Nice-to-haves:

- Good communicator, works well across cultures and time zones

- Self-starter, comfortable with minimal supervision

- Some exposure to PRINCE2/PMP, SCRUM, or Agile

- Can write clear documentation and doesn't mind running the odd training session

- AI/ML exposure, DevOps/JIRA/GitHub experience is a bonus

- Strong English; other UN languages are a plus but not required

Certifications (not mandatory, but a plus):

- AWS or Azure certs (infra, dev, or data)

- Master's in CS, Computer Engineering, or IT
