Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who will play a pivotal role in leading the electrical architecture, hardware design, and system integration of next-generation medical imaging systems. In this role, you will drive the design of high-density PCBAs, precision motor control systems for mechanical positioning gantries, and critical imaging signal chains, while mentoring engineers and acting as the technical anchor for a cross-geography engineering team. This position requires a proactive experienced engineer who can balance deep hands-on hardware work with design controls, documentation, and supplier coordination.

Expected skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in hardware development, including 3+ years in a high-reliability hardware engineering environment (Medical Devices preferred; Aerospace or Automotive considered)
  • High proficiency with schematic capture and PCB CAD tools (Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, etc..)
  • Practical experience architecting AC/DC power stages, gate drivers, current sensing, and protection circuitry
  • Hands-on expertise designing precision motor control architectures (BLDC and Stepper) for mechanical positioning systems
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, EMI/EMC mitigation, and noise reduction in microvolt-level analog/imaging signal chains
  • Exposure to safety, EMC, and risk management frameworks (such as IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, ISO 14971); specific regulatory standard expectations are currently TBD and will be finalized based on project scope
  • Expert-level command of lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, function generators)
  • Strong technical leadership skills with a track record of mentoring engineers and driving CAPA/root-cause investigations
  • Advanced English communication and presentation skills, able to translate hardware constraints for global, cross-functional stakeholders

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive the design, prototyping, and testing of complex electrical systems, subsystems, and high-density multi-layer PCBAs for next-generation medical imaging platforms
  • Architect and optimize AC/DC power stages, gate drivers, current sensing, protection circuitry, and precision BLDC/Stepper motor control used in mechanical positioning gantries
  • Analyze and optimize the critical electrical image chain to minimize noise, manage EMI/EMC, and improve system-level imaging performance
  • Assist in defining and adapting hardware designs as formal regulatory, safety, and EMC standard compliance requirements are finalized
  • Author and review engineering documentation(schematics, design descriptions, risk assessments, verification protocols) in alignment with applicable quality processes
  • Serve as technical point of contact for the APAC engineering pod; mentor junior engineers, lead CAPA/root-cause analysis, and coordinate with suppliers and CMs on DFM

Department/Project Description

Company Description:

A global leader in medical technology dedicated to enabling healthier lives through early detection, advanced diagnosis, and premium diagnostic imaging solutions. The organization develops high-precision capital equipment and integrated hardware systems used by healthcare providers worldwide.

Project Description:

The project focuses on the electrical hardware architecture of a flagship digital mammography and 3D tomosynthesis platform used for breast cancer screening and diagnosis. Work spans the system's mechanical positioning gantry (motorized C-arm rotation and compression mechanisms), power electronics, and the electrical signal chain feeding the digital detector, with a strong emphasis on image quality, patient/technologist safety, and system-level performance. The role combines hands-on hardware design and lab-based debugging with technical leadership and mentorship of a distributed engineering team.
