Head of Group IT

$$$$

We're looking for a hands-on Head of Group IT to own, modernize, and unify the internal corporate IT estate across a rapidly growing, PE-backed software group. This is a Director-level leadership role with a heavy focus on integrating newly acquired companies into a single, coherent IT function. You'll lead a team of around 10, owning infrastructure, cloud, helpdesk, security, and the group's IT budget end to end. The role calls for someone who stays close to the details while leading a team โ€” negotiating vendor contracts, standing up governance and policy, and making the calls that keep a multi-entity IT estate running smoothly. Fluency in both Polish and English is essential, as you'll work across leadership, vendors, and newly acquired teams. This is a chance to build a modern, unified IT function from a fragmented starting point, with real influence over how the group operates as it continues to grow.

๏ปฟDetails:

Schedule: Full time

Location: Warsaw, Poland (Hybrid)

Start: ASAP

Duration: Long-term

English: Fluent

Type of collaboration: Internal Employment

About the project:

The company is a 25-year-old provider of ERP, finance, and HR software for small and medium-sized businesses across Poland and Romania, backed by a private equity investor. It's growing quickly, both organically and through a steady pace of acquisitions across the CEE region, which means new companies with their own tools, systems, and IT practices are regularly joining the group. As a result, the internal IT estate has grown fragmented, with different infrastructure, vendors, and standards across entities. The business now needs a single technical owner who can bring these pieces together into one modern, well-governed IT function, while keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly for everyone who depends on it. Cost discipline and vendor management matter here, as does the ability to move at the pace of an actively acquisitive, PE-backed group. This is an internal, operations-focused function rather than a product or software engineering organization.

You have:

- Proven internal IT or IT-operations leadership in a mid-sized or group environment

- Experience managing an IT budget, with demonstrable cost optimization and vendor/license negotiation

- Experience building IT governance, policy, and standards from the ground up, not just running existing ones

- Fluent Polish and C1-level or above English

- Ideally, post-M&A IT integration experience, specifically consolidating fragmented IT estates

- Ideally, experience in a PE-backed or acquisitive group environment

- Ideally, multi-entity or cross-border CEE experience, ideally spanning Poland and Romania

- A plus: certifications such as ITIL, PMP, Azure, or CISM

- Based in Warsaw or another major Polish hub, with the ability to work hybrid

What to do:

- Own, modernize, and unify the group's internal corporate IT estate, with a strong focus on integrating newly acquired companies

- Lead and develop a team of around 10 across infrastructure, cloud, helpdesk, and security

- Manage the group IT budget, driving cost optimization and negotiating directly with vendors

- Build and roll out IT governance, policy, and standards consistently across group companies

- Consolidate fragmented IT estates following acquisitions into a single, coherent set of systems and practices

- Own IT infrastructure and cloud operations across Azure and AWS

- Ensure the group's IT practices support GDPR and broader cybersecurity requirements

- Manage ERP and CRM systems and related vendor relationships across the group

- Stay close to day-to-day execution while operating at a strategic, group-wide level
