Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure)

Project Description

A program of projects within the Energy domain. We will work on various applications covering generation control, distribution control, transmission control, and service crews control. The implementation area of these products is very high-scale (e.g. country-wide systems).

Job Description

• Extensive hands-on Terraform experience at the Azure enterprise platform or Landing Zone level.

• Experience working within complex, multi-tiered Terraform codebases using reusable modules, layered configurations, remote state, provider management, dependencies, and environment promotion.
• Strong knowledge of Azure tenant, management group, subscription, policy, identity, governance, and shared-service patterns.
• Strong Azure networking experience, including hub-and-spoke or Virtual WAN, routing, DNS, private endpoints, firewalls, and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, diagnostic settings, alerting, operational telemetry, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Azure Update Manager, backup, recovery, compliance, patching, drift management, and platform operations.
• Strong CI/CD experience for Terraform, including validation, policy and security checks, plan review, controlled deployment, release promotion, and recovery.
• Ability to write maintainable code, automated tests, technical documentation, and operational runbooks.

• Able to explain technical decisions and transfer knowledge to internal engineers.
• Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to basic Terraform, isolated application resources, or routine workload provisioning will not meet the requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and operate reusable ESS Azure Landing Zone capabilities (not application deployment or basic Terraform scope).

• Provide seasoned Azure platform and Terraform expertise.
• Work within the established multi-tiered Terraform architecture.
• Perform authorized platform engineering services.
• Develop and test platform-owned IaC, networking, diagnostics, logging, monitoring, Update Manager,
policy, governance, and automation capabilities.
• Maintain assigned delivery records and participate in reviews and planning.
• Document completed work and communicated progress, dependencies, risks, and issues.
• Support demonstrations, releases, operations, and knowledge transfer.
