Art Team Project Manager

$$$$

Your responsibilities

  • You will run production for an art team of 40 to 50 people and report to Lead Games Producer. Budgets, schedule and hours all sit with you. The Art Lead owns the creative decisions. You own everything that makes the work land on time and on budget.
  • You will know what every artist is working on, how many hours it took and whether that number was reasonable. When a project starts slipping you find out first, well before the deadline passes.
  • This is a hands on management job. We need someone who cuts through the noise and setbacks, and collects and analyzes the data that drives improvement.
  •
  • What you will do
  • Budget art projects. Hours, cost and headcount for each game, from concept through to final delivery.
  • Keep an eye on production schedules for several games running at the same time.
  • Track Kimai hours per person and per task. Know where the time actually goes and challenge it when the numbers do not add up.
  • Review deliverables from every team member against spec and deadline. Symbols, backgrounds, characters, UI, animation, and more.
  • Report weekly with real figures. Hours per game, cost per asset, estimate against the goals.
  • Manage 40 to 50 people day to day. Monitor their workload, catch their blockers, make sure they stick to the priorities and always be ready to have the difficult conversation when someone is late.

Our requirements

  • At least 4 to 5 years in project or production management inside a games company
  • Experience running a large art team or a large pipeline (40-50 people)
  • Knowledge of animation deliverables (Skeletal and Spine animation, VFX, timing, export pipelines)
  • Knowledge of illustration deliverables (Concept, symbols, backgrounds, characters, UI, marketing assets)
  • Experience owning art budgets and schedules from start to finish
  • Strong with numbers: build estimates, track spend and explain variance
  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets (build the model yourself)
  • Fluent with Claude and other AI tools
  • Experience with Jira or equivalent and time tracking tools (they run on Kimai)
  • Fluent Polish and good English at B2 or above
  • Direct communicator comfortable addressing late or off-spec work and informing management about slipping dates
  • Track Kimai hours per person and per task (Kimai time tracking tool)
  • Fluent with Claude and other AI tools (AI tools usage across company)

Optional

  • You worked in art or animation yourself before moving into production.
  • You have scaled an art pipeline while headcount was growing quickly.
  • You have managed teams that were partly remote.
