The company combines 24/7 Security Operations, cloud & infrastructure services, incident response, and compliance, working with clients in fintech, financial services, critical infrastructure, and other regulated industries.
We are currently looking for a Mid-Senior Microsoft SQL Server DBA / Database Engineer who will work with production database environments, performance optimization, DWH, ETL, and reporting workloads, Power BI, and various database technologies, as well as participate in infrastructure modernization and development.
What will be in focus
SQL Server Administration & Operations
- Administration and support of Microsoft SQL Server 2019–2022 in a production environment.
- Monitoring database health, performance, availability, and capacity.
- Management of Backup & Restore, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Support and maintenance of High Availability solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, and Replication.
- Planning and execution of SQL Server upgrades, patching, and migrations.
- Management of database security, authentication, permissions, and access controls.
- Working with SQL Server Agent and supporting scheduled database jobs.
Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting
- Investigation and resolution of database performance issues in production.
- Analysis and optimization of SQL queries, execution plans, and database workloads.
- Monitoring wait statistics, system resources, and performance bottlenecks.
- Development and maintenance of indexing and statistics strategies.
- Troubleshooting blocking, deadlocks, concurrency issues, and long-running queries.
- Use of Query Store, Extended Events, and Dynamic Management Views (DMVs) for performance diagnostics.
- Conducting Root Cause Analysis of production incidents and recurring database problems.
- Identifying potential risks and proactively resolving issues before they impact the business.
Database Development Support
- Supporting development teams on SQL and T-SQL optimization.
- Reviewing database designs, schemas, and data models.
- Participation in deployment and release activities.
- Supporting SSIS packages and database integration processes.
- Participation in code reviews of stored procedures, views, functions, and ETL solutions.
- Collaboration with development, BI, ETL, and data teams to improve database performance and reliability.
Monitoring & Automation
- Implementation and support of SQL Server monitoring solutions.
- Development of proactive health checks, alerts, and diagnostic procedures.
- Creation of automation scripts using T-SQL and PowerShell.
- Continuous improvement of operational processes and reduction of manual administration efforts.
- Support and development of technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base.
Must Have
- 3+ years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA, Database Engineer, or in a similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Practical experience in database administration and production support.
- Experience with Power BI and support of data sources / backend performance.
- Practical experience with at least one of the relational database technologies — PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Good level of T-SQL and practical experience with query optimization.
- Experience with Execution Plans, Query Store, Extended Events, DMVs, Wait Statistics, indexing, and statistics management.
- Practical experience with SQL Server performance diagnostics, including blocking, deadlocks, concurrency issues, execution plans, indexing strategies, and resource bottleneck analysis.
- Practical experience with Backup & Restore, Always On Availability Groups, Replication, SQL Server Agent, and Database Security.
- Understanding of authentication, permissions, and access controls.
- Solid understanding of Windows Server fundamentals.
- Experience with ticketing systems and incident management processes.
- Ability to independently diagnose, investigate, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Ukrainian and/or Russian language — mandatory.
- English — B1 level or higher.

- Experience with Azure — Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, or other cloud database services.
- Experience with AWS and cloud database services.
- Deeper experience administering PostgreSQL / MySQL.
- Experience with SSIS, ETL, and Data Warehouse solutions.
- PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Experience with VMware environments.
- Experience with large database environments, including 1 TB+.
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms.
- Experience participating in database migrations, modernization, or cloud transformation projects.
