Senior Automation QA Engineer (AI-Driven Test Automation)

We are looking for a Senior Automation QA Engineer who will be responsible for developing and driving test automation on the project, with a strong focus on applying AI to QA and test automation.

This is a hands-on engineering role. You will write and maintain automated tests, improve the automation framework, contribute to the automation strategy, and work closely with the QA Lead and development team.

You will work under the QA Lead, who owns the overall QA direction, while you will be responsible for the automation side of the project - from developing and maintaining tests to proposing and implementing new approaches, tools, and practices.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, takes responsibility for their area, and doesn't simply wait for tasks to be assigned. Someone who can identify a problem, suggest a better approach, and take it through to implementation.

AI is already an active part of our QA and development workflow. We use AI/LLM tools such as Claude to accelerate and improve our engineering processes, and we want to take this further.

In this role, you will use AI not just as a coding assistant, but as a tool for rethinking and improving test automation - from test creation and maintenance to analysis, debugging, and optimization of QA workflows.

You will have the opportunity to:

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain automated UI tests using TypeScript / Playwright.
• Develop, improve, and scale the automation framework.
• Be responsible for the automation side of the project and continuously improve it.
• Contribute to and continuously improve the automation strategy and approach.
• Proactively identify gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement in test automation.
• Propose and implement new automation approaches, tools, and best practices.
• Automate testing of new product features and improve overall test coverage.
• Work closely with the QA Lead, QA engineers, and developers to ensure high product quality.
• Evaluate new automation and AI tools and introduce those that bring real value.
• Help improve and scale automation practices across multiple projects and platforms.
   

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in QA automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript / TypeScript.
• Strong experience with Playwright or a similar modern automation framework.
• Strong understanding of TypeScript and automation architecture.
• Experience designing, building, or significantly improving automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of web application testing and testing theory.
• Experience with cross-platform testing.
• Experience working across multiple projects or products.
• Strong Git skills.
• Ability to independently make technical decisions related to automation.
• A proactive mindset and willingness to identify problems, propose solutions, and implement improvements.
• Practical experience with AI/LLM tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
• Understanding of how AI can be applied to software testing and test automation.
• Genuine interest in AI-driven QA and test automation.
• Ability to evaluate new technologies critically and turn promising ideas into practical solutions.
   

Nice to Have

• API automation experience.
• CI/CD and DevOps experience.
• Docker and cloud-based testing.
• Experience building AI-powered QA tools, agents, or workflows.
• Experience with self-healing or AI-assisted test automation.
• Python or another programming language.
