Senior Node.js Engineer (AWS Serverless) (#5732)

We are looking for a Senior Node.js Engineer (AWS Serverless) to join the team supporting a well-established UK-based e-commerce retailer operating across the US, UK, and APAC markets under 16+ partner brands. 

The client runs a high-volume, subscription-driven commerce platform with complex multi-market business logic and is currently midway through a major platform modernisation initiative — transitioning from a legacy monolithic system to a modern MACH architecture (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless). As part of the engineering team, you will contribute to building scalable cloud-native services and modern backend solutions using Node.js and AWS Serverless technologies, helping drive the next generation of the client’s global commerce platform.

Responsibilities:

• Build AWS Lambda microservices (Node.js/TypeScript) behind API Gateway, integrated with Commerce Tools and D365.
• Design and optimise DynamoDB data models and access patterns for high-throughput e-commerce.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with DevOps on infrastructure automation.
• Support knowledge transfer to client engineers on AWS serverless best practices.
• Delegate multi-step tasks to AI agents; review diffs, verify output, and maintain accountability for what gets committed.

Requirements:

• Experience: 5+ years in Software Development 
• Backend: Strong, production-grade proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Cloud5/Serverless: Production-grade expertise with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB (not just theoretical).
• Architecture: Robust experience with microservices architecture and greenfield development.
• AI Tooling: You are a self-sufficient builder who ships fast, communicates clearly across international teams, and operates AI agents as a genuine force multiplier — delegating, verifying, and iterating, not just prompting.
• English level: Upper-Intermediate+

• Tech Stack Ecosystem (Nice-to-Have): Exposure to ECS, Commerce Tools, Netlify, Contentful, D365, or Akamai
