Middle Engineer (Atlassian)

We are looking for a Middle Engineer (Atlassian) to join our team!

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience administering Jira Data Center.
• Configuring workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, issue types, screens, custom fields.
• Confluence: space and user permissions.
• ScriptRunner and Groovy: validators, post-functions, listeners, scripted fields, behaviours. Ability to write custom scripts.
• REST API: understanding of Jira/Confluence REST APIs and experience building automations.
• Understanding of Jira Data Center: indexing and reindex impact, performance of listeners and scheduled jobs, cluster behaviour.
• Hands-on experience with at least one of: Insight/Assets, Tempo, BigPicture, Xray.
• Solution design and configuration documentation.
• Understanding of Scrum and Kanban.

Will be plus:

• Experience of upgrading or migrating Jira Data Center / Confluence.
• Experience integrating Jira with external systems via API.
• Experience working in a matrix organisation with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Atlassian product administration: manage and configure Jira and Confluence.
• User and permission management: user provisioning, group and role management, access permissions.
• Workflow and automations: build and optimise Jira Automation rules, workflows and ScriptRunner scripts.
• Scripting: develop and maintain Groovy scripts that extend Jira and Confluence functionality.
• Incident handling: investigate errors in existing automations and deliver fixes.
• Integration management: configure and maintain integrations with third-party tools and with internal systems via REST API.
• Security and compliance: enforce best practices for access, data retention and permission schemes.
• Workflow and permission audits: regularly review permission schemes, workflows and automation rules, remove redundancy, improve efficiency.
• Upgrades and maintenance: participate in Jira/Confluence upgrade activities, including app compatibility checks and post-upgrade validation.
• Documentation: maintain and update internal documentation on configurations, automations and best practices.
• Training and user guidance: run training sessions or produce guides to improve end-user adoption.
• Collaboration: work with developers, project managers and IT teams to align Atlassian tooling with business processes.
• Continuous improvement: evaluate existing configurations and automations, propose and implement optimisations.
• Designing, automating, and maintaining non-developer project ecosystems in Jira, focusing on HR Stream operations: Staff Registry, Employee Lifecycle (Onboarding/Offboarding), Compensation & Benefits, and internal Service Desks.
