Middle Full-Stack developer

We're looking for a Middle Full-Stack Developer, who can take product ideas from scope to shipped feature without waiting on handoffs. You'll own real product surfaces in Aligned's coaching app — onboarding, chat, memory, goals, reminders — and help the team ship fast in an early-stage, low-bureaucracy environment.

Product you will work with: We're launching - a subscription-based AI Coach Aligned, trained on 1,000+ top books and expert insights — helping users achieve personal and professional goals faster with 24/7 coaching.

Your qualities and skills that will be valued:

• 2+ years of commercial software engineering experience, experience in product companies is preferable.
• Strong TypeScript, Node.js skills.
• Experience with a modern frontend framework (React/Next.js, React Native/Expo).
• Backend API development experience and relational database basics.
• Ability to model product data.
• Hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs.
• Confident with Git, code review, and debugging.
• English level B2 or higher — able to read specs and discuss tradeoffs.

Your additional advantages:

• Experience with OpenAI/LLM API integrations, prompt and conversation-flow engineering.
• Chat UI experience.
• Background with subscriptions/payments, A/B testing, or product analytics.
• Experience in wellness, coaching, education, productivity, or subscription apps.
• Familiarity with Claude Code/Codex or other AI-driven development workflows.
• Experience in mobile development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and maintaining product features and internal tools across frontend and backend.
• Implementing API endpoints and data models.
• Connecting AI/coaching flows to product state.
• Instrumenting analytics events to track activation and retention.
• Fixing bugs and improving UX quality.
• Participating in product scoping and breaking ambiguous requirements into implementable tasks.
• Reviewing code and writing pragmatic tests where useful.
• Collaborating closely with product, design, marketing, and AI/prompt stakeholders.
• Generating ideas on how to make the product run more efficiently.
