Dynamics 365 Project Operations Consultant

The candidate will be responsible for:
- Analyzing complex business, service and project processes and translating requirements into scalable, practical solutions.
- Independently leading functional consulting activities, including requirements gathering, workshops, process analysis, functional design and configuration.
- Advising customers on process improvements and solution choices, while challenging requirements where needed.
- Configuring and optimizing solutions hands-on and supporting testing, training, go-live and post-go-live activities.
- Working closely with developers, architects and integration specialists to ensure functional, technical and integration requirements align.
- Identifying risks, dependencies and implementation issues early, communicating them proactively and supporting decisions with concrete evidence.
- Assessing the impact of changes carefully, asking the right questions before implementation and maintaining a high quality standard.
- Taking ownership, driving continuous improvements and collaborating effectively in multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Delivering within scope, budget and timelines while maintaining strong customer satisfaction and long-term relationships.

Must-haves:
- Extensive hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations experience. This is the number-one selection criterion and should carry the most weight during sourcing and screening.
- Candidate must have substantial Project Operations implementation experience in real customer environments and must be able to clearly describe personal responsibilities, configurations, decisions and solutions delivered.
- Candidate must have made significant practical mileage with Project Operations. Theoretical knowledge, certifications, demos, presales experience or brief exposure to a Project Operations implementation are not sufficient.
- Strong practical understanding of core Project Operations processes, including project management, resource scheduling, time and expense management, budgeting and forecasting. These were also present in the previous successful candidate's experience and provide useful indicators of real Project Operations depth.
- Strong functional consulting capability. Candidate must genuinely be comfortable performing functional customer work on a daily basis and independently taking ownership of functional activities.
- Hands-on experience with requirements gathering, customer workshops, process analysis, functional design, configuration, testing, implementation and customer guidance.
- Candidate must be able to independently analyze complex business processes and translate these into scalable and workable solutions.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with integrations. This is a core requirement. Candidate must understand how Dynamics 365 interacts with surrounding applications and systems.
- Candidate must understand integration requirements, dependencies, data flows and the functional impact of integrations and must be able to work effectively with developers and integration specialists.
- At least 3 years of substantial experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement.
- Sufficient technical understanding to discuss technical implications, integrations and solution dependencies with developers without being primarily positioned as a developer.
- Strong customer-facing consulting and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Seniority must be demonstrated through actual project ownership, independent delivery, customer interaction and the ability to advise and challenge stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and the ability to quickly understand complex customer environments.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Candidate must communicate proactively and raise risks, blockers and uncertainties early rather than waiting until they become problems.
- Candidate should support issues and concerns with concrete information and evidence.
- Candidate must ask clarifying questions before implementing potentially impactful changes rather than making assumptions.
- Candidate must work carefully in shared environments and consider the potential impact of changes on existing functionality and other team members' work.
- Strong ownership, initiative and a high standard for quality are required.
- Candidate must be able to collaborate effectively with functional consultants, developers, solution architects, integration specialists and customer stakeholders.
- Candidate must be comfortable working fulltime in a remote setup.
- Candidate has professional experience with GitHub Copilot and actively uses it as part of the working process.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent professional and intellectual working level.

Nice-to-haves:
- Extensive hands-on Dynamics 365 Field Service experience in addition to Project Operations. The combination of deep Project Operations and Field Service expertise represents the strongest possible profile.
- Experience delivering both Project Operations and Field Service across multiple real customer implementations.
- Practical experience with Field Service processes such as work orders, scheduling, agreements, inventory and mobile processes. Comparable Field Service depth was present in the previously successful profile.
- Experience with PSA solutions and professional services business processes.
- Experience delivering multiple end-to-end Dynamics 365 implementations.
- Experience with larger, complex or enterprise-scale implementations.
- Strong knowledge of Dataverse and surrounding Microsoft platform capabilities.
- Broader technical Dynamics 365 knowledge that enables effective collaboration with developers and integration specialists.
- Experience in international Microsoft consulting environments.
- Experience advising customers on organizational change and business process optimization.
- Experience with additional AI-assisted development or consulting tooling.

1. Project Operations depth: extensive hands-on implementation experience is the primary selection criterion.
2. Functional seniority: candidate must be genuinely strong at independently performing customer-facing functional consulting work.
3. Integrations: strong knowledge and practical integration experience are essential.
4. Field Service: extensive Field Service expertise significantly strengthens the profile, but Project Operations remains more important.
