Junior Strong/Middle Manual QA Engineer
Blackthorn Vision is looking for a Middle Manual QA Engineer. Our client, established in 2011 and based in Colorado, is a leading player in the U.S. application management market. Weโve had a successful partnership with this client and are seeking candidates who are eager to take ownership and improve a product already trusted by over 6,000 enterprises.
Requirements
- ~1.5+ years of QA experience within Agile development teams.
- Solid grasp of test planning, executing functional and non-functional test cases, and defect reporting.
- Ability to translate business requirements into test cases, including edge cases and comprehensive coverage.
- Hands-on testing of web and desktop applications, including verifying installs on virtual machines (VMs).
- Solid knowledge of browser developer tools (Console, Network, Application).
- Practical experience with Azure DevOps for test management and defect tracking.
- REST API testing with Swagger (OpenAPI).
- Basic experience querying MongoDB (NoSQL) to validate data.
- Basic Git (push changes โ e.g., to our manual AI-prompt framework).
- Comfortable using VS Code + GitHub Copilot to assist test-plan / test-case creation.
- Strong product-oriented mindset (user value and business impact) and out-of-the-box test thinking.
- Excellent team communication and collaboration skills.
- Upper-Intermediate level of English.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI-assisted testing tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Design and execute functional and non-functional test cases; create and maintain test documentation in Azure DevOps.
- Perform backend testing (APIs via Swagger, MongoDB, logs) and verify deployments/installs on VMs.
- Use VS Code + Copilot prompts to help generate test plans and test cases.
- Analyze and report test results, track defects, and handle daily QA routines.
- Communicate with the team and participate in Agile ceremonies.
