Senior Platform Engineer

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join a small, highly technical team building and operating a modern AI-powered platform.

You will take ownership of platform capabilities across GCP infrastructure, cloud-native services, CI/CD, security, observability, production operations, and AI infrastructure. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility for reliability, scalability, and engineering quality.

Responsibilities:

• Own platform and infrastructure components end-to-end, from architecture and configuration through deployment and production support.
• Manage and optimize GCP infrastructure, including Cloud Run, Secret Manager, Workload Identity, Cloud Scheduler, Logging, and Monitoring.
• Own release processes across development, staging, and production, including deployment gates, rollback procedures, and post-deployment verification.
• Monitor production systems, respond to alerts, investigate logs, troubleshoot incidents, and implement preventive improvements.
• Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, automated quality gates, structural tests, and deployment automation.
• Implement and maintain security controls including IAM, authentication, multi-tenancy, CORS, CSP, rate limiting, and usage/metering protection.
• Work with Cloudflare, DNS, CDN, TLS, and edge infrastructure, collaborating with external platform owners where required.
• Support payment infrastructure and integrations, including reliable webhook processing and idempotent transaction handling.
• Contribute to the platform’s AI/LLM infrastructure, including model integrations, routing, prompt contracts, token metering, evaluation, and reliability controls.
• Help establish engineering standards, documentation, acceptance criteria, and operational processes as the platform and engineering team grow.
• Review AI-assisted code and ensure changes meet production, security, and reliability standards.

• Provide clear written updates on delivered work, upcoming tasks, blockers, and production issues.

   

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience building and operating production systems with real infrastructure ownership.
• Strong experience with GCP, particularly Cloud Run, IAM, Secret Manager, monitoring, and logging.
• Strong backend understanding, preferably Python / FastAPI or a similar modern framework.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, automated testing, and deployment automation.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, authentication, authorization, networking, and observability.
• Experience with DNS, CDN, TLS, Cloudflare, and edge infrastructure.
• Production experience with Stripe or another payment platform, including webhooks and idempotency.
• Experience integrating LLM/AI services in production, including cost, latency, streaming, and failure management.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and incident response.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver according to agreed timelines.

• Strong written communication and documentation skills.

• Firebase Auth, Hosting, and Firestore
• Cloudflare Workers, Access, and Zero Trust
• Usage metering and billing systems
• Open-weight LLMs and LoRA / fine-tuning
• Quantization, evaluation frameworks, and GPU serving
• Experience with AWS or Azure in addition to GCP
• Infrastructure security and supply-chain security

• Experience working in a small or early-stage engineering team
