The Business Development Officer will drive top-line revenue growth, merchant acquisition, and strategic partnership expansion. Operating at the intersection of business strategy, partner management, and payment technology, you will convert market opportunities into active commercial relationships with merchants, financial institutions, and regional payment ecosystem enablers.
Core Responsibilities :
- B2B Client Acquisition: Prospect, negotiate, and close commercial agreements with enterprise clients, e-commerce platforms, and SMEs for DALA Group CM's payment solutions.
- Strategic Ecosystem Alliances: Secure and manage partnerships with banks, microfinance institutions (MFIs), telecom operators (MTN, Orange), and payment aggregators.
- Pipeline & Account Management: Lead the full sales cycle from cold outreach to onboarding. Nurture high-value client relationships to maximize volume, retention, and lifetime value.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on partner due diligence (KYC/KYB/AML) and collaborate with engineering on partner API integrations.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) & GPV Growth: Target transaction volume and revenue generation across acquired merchant portfolios.
- B2B Partner Acquisition Rate: Number of active, verified business accounts signed and onboarded monthly.
- Time-to-First-Transaction (TTFT): Speed and efficiency of moving newly signed partners from contract execution to live operational transactions.
- Pipeline Conversion Rate: Percentage of qualified leads successfully converted into active revenue-generating clients.
Qualifications & Competencies :
- Experience: 2โ5 years of demonstrated success in B2B sales, account acquisition, or strategic partnerships within Fintech, Payments, Telecom, or SaaS.
- Domain Knowledge: Understanding of digital payment gateways, mobile money APIs, merchant acquiring, and CEMAC regional financial/regulatory environments.
- Attributes: High autonomy, strong negotiation capabilities, and a self-starter mindset tailored to an early-stage startup environment.
- Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in both French and English (written and spoken)
