Tech Lead — Platform (Go + TypeScript)

About this role At Coreblocks, we create tools that support independent creators, entrepreneurs, and freelancers. In this position, you will drive the technical development of our native Android application, creating fast, seamless, and intuitive mobile features that simplify how users manage fiat, digital assets, and investment portfolios. We grant you complete engineering autonomy, valuing high craftsmanship and zero micromanagement, allowing you to design, build, and deploy secure, beautifully styled mobile experiences end-to-end.

You'll take ownership of:

• Native Application Development: Design, implement, and maintain responsive Android features (including transaction history, account overviews, payment processing, and multi-asset dashboards) maintaining full parity with our web platform.
• Secure API Communication: Work closely with backend teams to consume and protect real-time financial streams over RESTful services.
• Client-Side Security: Build and enforce high-standard security patterns, incorporating biometric logins, secure token storage using Android Keystore, certificate pinning, and smooth multi-factor authentication (MFA) flows.
• Design System & UI Execution: Convert Figma designs into pixel-perfect Material Design layouts using Jetpack Compose, delivering simple user journeys for complex financial operations.
• Code Reliability & App Performance: Write solid unit and integration test suites (JUnit, MockK), conduct thorough code reviews, monitor application memory/resource consumption across various Android devices, and fix production issues rapidly.
• Agile Collaboration & Delivery: Contribute actively to sprint planning, offer reliable technical estimates, and align software roadmaps with Product Leadership by understanding the business drivers behind every task.
• AI-Native Engineering: Leverage modern AI assistants (Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot) in your everyday workflow to speed up UI prototyping, code writing, and unit test coverage.

About you:

• Commercial Android Experience: 3+ years of professional experience developing native Android applications, with high proficiency in Kotlin and hands-on familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
• Modern Android Stack: Thorough understanding of modern architectural patterns (MVVM/MVI, Clean Architecture) and Jetpack components (ViewModel, Coroutines Flow, Navigation).
• Declarative UI & Concurrency: Strong hands-on experience using Jetpack Compose (or extensive background with traditional XML Layouts) alongside Kotlin Coroutines and Flow for managing reactive data streams.
• Mobile Security Practice: Practical knowledge of securing sensitive data in mobile apps, including Keystore integration, code obfuscation (ProGuard/R8), and encrypted local storage.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Proven track record of writing unit tests (JUnit, Mockito/MockK), exceptional debugging skills, and a strong focus on mobile app performance and crash-free rates.
• Self-Driven Accountability: Ability to manage your own tasks independently, taking full responsibility for features from initial setup to Google Play release without needing constant oversight.
• Open Communication: Professional English skills (spoken and written), strong team spirit, willingness to share knowledge across engineering teams, and a commitment to a respectful working culture.
