Business Analyst (Finance Systems)

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Finance Systems Analyst, Accounting Systems Analyst, ERP Business Analyst, Finance Transformation Analyst, or similar.
• Strong understanding of accounting and finance processes.
• Experience with finance/accounting systems or ERP systems.
• Understanding of:

-General Ledger;

-Chart of Accounts;

-Journal entries;

-Accounts Payable;

-Vendor bills;

-Payments;

-Bank reconciliation;

-Month-end close;

-Management reporting;

-Budget vs actuals.

• Experience documenting business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with system integrations, data mapping, batch imports, APIs, or data migration.
• Understanding of source of truth, reconciliation, audit trail, data ownership, and financial controls.
• Ability to work with Finance, Accounting, Tech, Data, Treasury, Compliance, and external implementation partners.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and document finance and accounting requirements.
• Map current-state and target-state finance processes.
• Translate Finance needs into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Support implementation of finance system workflows for GL, Chart of Accounts, journal entries, vendor bills, payments, bank reconciliation, cost centers, budgeting, reporting, and month-end close.
• Work with Tech and Data teams to define finance-related integration requirements.
• Help define source systems, data ownership, required fields, batch logic, source references, error handling, retry logic, and audit trail requirements.
• Support creation and maintenance of:

-Source of Truth Matrix;

-Accounting Event Matrix;

-Integration Data Contract;

-Reconciliation Matrix;

-Reporting Requirements;

-UAT Scenarios;

-Decision Log.

• Define reconciliation requirements for trading fees, PSP settlements, bank statements, fiat flows, crypto balances, network fees, client assets/liabilities, and company own funds.
• Help ensure finance system entries can be traced back to source systems, source batches, reports, or data warehouse references.
• Prepare UAT scenarios and support Finance users during testing.
• Document issues, risks, dependencies, assumptions, and change requests.
• Help protect MVP scope and challenge unclear or overly broad requirements such as “import all transactions into the finance system.”
• Support go-live readiness, cutover preparation, and post-go-live stabilization.

Would be a plus

• Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience in fintech, crypto, payments, banking, brokerage, trading platforms, or PSP integrations.
• Experience with high-volume transactional systems.
• Experience with multi-currency finance.
• Experience with bank and PSP settlement reconciliation.
• Experience with client funds, client liabilities, wallets, custody, or treasury flows.
• Basic SQL knowledge.
• Experience with audit preparation or regulated financial environments.
