About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join an international product client.

In this role, you will be working simultaneously across two production products, both built on a modern full-stack and cloud technology stack.

Both platforms are already built, deployed, and actively evolving. Your responsibilities will include developing new features, maintaining and improving existing systems, optimizing performance, evolving architecture, scaling infrastructure, and solving complex engineering challenges.

This is not a maintenance-only position. You will actively contribute to the development of both products and have a direct impact on their technical direction.

Project 1 — AI & Financial Analytics Platform

The first product is an AI-powered financial technology and investment analytics platform designed to help users better understand their investments and financial markets.

The platform combines:

• Portfolio tracking
• Market analytics
• Institutional investment data
• Congressional trading disclosures
• Investment performance analytics
• Data visualization
• AI-powered capabilities

Your work on this product will include developing web and mobile applications, backend services, API integrations, financial data integrations, database solutions, and cloud infrastructure.

Project 2 — AI-powered Social & Location Platform

The second product is a consumer-facing real-world social discovery platform that helps users discover interesting places, events, and people around them.

The platform combines:

• AI-powered recommendations
• Real-time venue intelligence
• Hotspot analytics
• Event discovery
• Maps and geolocation
• Social networking

What You'll Be Doing

Working across both products in parallel, you will:

• Maintain and improve production systems.
• Develop new features for web and mobile applications.
• Work with React Native / Expo and Next.js.
• Build reusable cross-platform UI components.
• Maintain shared business logic between web and mobile.
• Develop and improve backend services using Node.js / Express.js.
• Design and implement REST APIs and WebSocket functionality.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external data providers.
• Work with MongoDB and Redis, optimizing queries and caching strategies.
• Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Work with AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, and Docker.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Automate deployment processes.
• Monitor production systems and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Improve logging, monitoring, observability, and alerting.
• Improve cloud security and secrets management.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and reduce technical debt.
• Work on scaling both platforms to support continued growth.
• Collaborate closely with the client's product and engineering teams.

Depending on current priorities, your work may involve financial data and analytics, AI recommendations, real-time systems, geolocation, social features, mobile experiences, API integrations, or performance and scalability improvements.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong commercial experience with React / Next.js / TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with React Native and Expo.
• Strong experience with Node.js / Express.js.
• Experience building and maintaining production applications.
• Experience with MongoDB and Redis.
• Practical experience with AWS.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working with existing production systems and complex codebases.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Ability to independently identify and solve complex technical problems.
• Experience working in small, fast-moving teams.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
• English B2+ — required for regular communication with the international client team.
• Comfortable working across two products in parallel and switching between different product and technical priorities.

You do not need commercial experience with every technology in the stack. We value strong engineering fundamentals, the ability to quickly understand an existing codebase, and the confidence to make sound technical decisions.
