Magento backend developer (Polish speaking)

Polish Level: B2/C1 (Mandatory: Fluent spoken Polish for daily communication)

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Magento Developer to lead the technical architecture, custom module development, and system integrations for scalable e-commerce solutions across Poland and the EU market.

In this role, your primary focus will be pure backend development—architecting complex business logic, optimizing database queries, and integrating third-party systems—while maintaining active daily communication with Polish-speaking stakeholders and an international technical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Architecture & Development: Design, build, and maintain complex, scalable backend modules and extensions for Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce following Magento Best Practices.
• API & System Integrations: Develop and optimize REST and GraphQL APIs to seamlessly integrate Magento with external systems (ERP, CRM, WMS, PIM, payment gateways, and delivery providers).
• Performance Tuning & Optimization: Profile server-side execution time, optimize MySQL queries, configure caching mechanisms (Redis, Varnish), and manage search engines (Elasticsearch / OpenSearch).
• Code Review & Mentorship: Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce coding standards, and support mid-level backend developers.

• Technical Communication: Participate in daily standups, backlog refinement, and technical discussions in Polish with local client representatives and in English with the broader project team.

   

Key Requirements

1. Technical Skills (Hard Skills):

• Experience: 5+ years of commercial PHP development, with 3.5+ years focused on Magento 2 backend.
• Magento Core: Deep understanding of Magento 2 backend architecture (Dependency Injection, Plugins/Interceptors, Events/Observers, Repositories, Declarative Schema).
• Databases & Caching: Strong proficiency in MySQL/MariaDB schema design & query optimization, Redis, Varnish, and Elasticsearch / OpenSearch.
• APIs: Extensive experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and GraphQL interfaces.
• DevOps & Tools: Proficient with Git, Docker, Composer, Linux environments, and CI/CD workflows (GitLab CI / GitHub Actions).

• Certifications: Adobe Certified Professional / Expert / Master (Adobe Commerce Developer) is a strong plus.

   

2. Language & Soft Skills:

• Spoken Polish (Mandatory): B2/C1 level. Ability to conduct technical calls, explain complex architecture, and collaborate smoothly with Polish-speaking clients and team members.
• English: B1+

• Problem-Solving: Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to break down complex business requirements into clear technical tasks.
