Senior Full Stack (C#/ .NET 8 and JavaScript) Engineer

Root One currently has a bespoke HRIS platform, known internally as Rodney, which is already live and in use across the business.
The current platform includes:

• Employee records and organisational structure
• Timesheet submission and manager approval
• Payroll reporting
• Time Off and annual leave
• Sick leave and TLO
• PPE management
• Onboarding and offboarding
• Manager dashboards
• Management reporting

The reporting function is intended to allow authorised management users to pull worker activity and timesheet information over selected periods, including daily, weekly and monthly reports. Reports can also include information relating to employees, divisions, departments, hours worked and how working time has been allocated.
The majority of the platform is operational, but several areas require further investigation, development or stabilisation.

The solution is built primarily using C# and .NET 8, with separate repositories for the user interface and backend API.
The user interface is an ASP.NET Core MVC application using:
C# and Razor Views

• JavaScript
• Bootstrap 5
• jQuery
• Sass/SCSS
• Gulp and Rollup for frontend asset compilation

The backend is a separate ASP.NET Core Web API, also built on .NET 8. It is a versioned REST API with separate service components.

The main priorities currently include:

• Reviewing and understanding the existing application and codebase
• Completing and stabilising the Time Off module, which is currently disabled
• Resolving payroll reporting and calculation issues
• Completing and improving the management reporting functionality
• Ensuring management can reliably pull daily, weekly and monthly worker reports
• Allowing reports to be filtered by worker, date range, division and department
• Providing clearer breakdowns of how working hours have been allocated across divisions, departments and work types
• Investigating inconsistencies between information displayed within the application and records held within the database
• Reviewing the overall stability of the platform and identifying any immediate technical or data risks
