Staff / Principal .NET Engineer (AWS)
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Staff / Principal .NET Engineer with deep expertise in .NET, AWS, and distributed systems to join one of our long-term projects.
In this role, you will serve as a senior technical leader, driving architecture and engineering decisions while remaining hands-on with development. You will work on designing and delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions, mentor engineers through technical leadership, and help shape the long-term technical direction of the platform.
The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering expertise with architectural thinking, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and leads by example through high-quality code and sound technical decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications using C#/.NET technologies.
- Drive technical architecture decisions and ensure the implementation of scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based architectures.
- Build and maintain high-performance REST APIs.
- Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS services, including Lambda and SQS.
- Design efficient and scalable relational database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server.
- Take ownership of complex technical initiatives from architecture through implementation and delivery.
- Analyze business requirements, estimate engineering efforts, and define technical implementation strategies.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a strong focus on Unit Testing and Definition of Done principles.
- Conduct code reviews and establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and software quality guidelines.
- Mentor and support engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and architectural reviews.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver business value.
- Identify technical risks, resolve complex engineering challenges, and continuously improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.
- Utilize AI-powered development tools to improve engineering productivity.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of commercial software development experience with C#/.NET Core and .NET Framework.
- Proven experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Technical Lead, Development Lead, or similar senior technical individual contributor role.
- Strong experience designing and building microservices-based architectures.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, including Lambda, SQS, and cloud-native application development.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) and relational database design.
- Extensive experience designing and developing REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience driving architectural decisions and leading complex technical initiatives.
- Strong experience conducting code reviews and mentoring engineers.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Advanced or higher level of English.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
- Experience working with AI-powered development tools.
- Experience modernizing legacy systems and migrating applications to cloud-native architectures.
- Experience working with event-driven architectures and messaging systems.
