Senior Java Fullstack Engineer (BE focused)

This solution provides real-time detection, prioritization, and automated remediation of endpoint security and compliance risks across large, distributed environments. It continuously ingests and analyzes telemetry from thousands of devices. 

About the Role:

You will join a newly formed engineering team building a next-generation, high-scale data platform from the ground up. The platform will aggregate and process large volumes of streaming data from multiple products, providing a unified view across the ecosystem. As one of the first engineers on the team, you’ll help shape the architecture, establish engineering best practices, and build scalable solutions for one of the company’s highest-volume data platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Develop scalable backend services and APIs using Java, TypeScript, gRPC, and Protobuf. 
• Develop and maintain event-driven pipelines using Kafka, stream-processing technologies (Flink or others), PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and Redis. 
• Write, analyze, and tune complex SQL queries; improve query plans, indexing, and overall database performance.
• Develop and enhance frontend features using TypeScript and React.
• Build and maintain features related to employees, departments, devices, and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Improve the platform’s scalability, reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks across services, data pipelines, and databases.
• Own features end-to-end, from technical design and implementation to production delivery.
• Collaborate in a small, highly autonomous team, contributing to architecture decisions and shaping the future of the platform.

Required Competence and Skills:

• 10+ years of experience building production-grade backend systems, with strong expertise in Java, distributed architectures, and scalable data-processing systems.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven streaming architectures, including topic design, partitioning, consumer groups, and delivery guarantees.
• Practical experience with Apache Flink (preferred) or another stream-processing framework.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and ClickHouse or similar OLAP databases (e.g. TimescaleDB, Aerospike), including data modeling, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning; familiarity with Redis and caching strategies.
• Experience with gRPC, Protobuf, and building high-volume, low-latency data processing systems.
• Experience implementing RBAC, permission models, and multi-tenant architectures.
• Experience developing frontend applications with TypeScript and React.
• Strong hands-on experience with AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor), including validation of AI-generated code.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and observability in production environments.
• Proven experience as a key contributor to complex backend and data-platform projects, with the ability to work independently and deliver scalable solutions.

Nice to Have:

• Experience building Kafka-based data pipelines that integrate data from multiple backend systems.
• Experience with identity and access management solutions such as Okta, Active Directory, SCIM, or SSO.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and data-intensive infrastructure.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into production backend systems.
