Java engineer

About the company

SaaS product, profitable, growth stage. A small American-Ukrainian product team, have few data retrieval services (e.g. VIN lookup) and several psychological tests, quizzes. Working with the US and EU market.

We are looking for a Java engineer to reinforce our Backend team.

Requirements
- Strong knowledge of core Java - language internals, collections, and object contracts

- Solid understanding of concurrency and the Java memory model

- Production-level experience with Spring Boot - DI, transaction management, application lifecycle

- Practical experience with JPA/Hibernate and ORM performance pitfalls

- Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals - transactions, indexing, locking strategies

- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing production systems (performance, memory, query issues)

- Understanding of building resilient, fault-tolerant services
- English B2

Nice to have
- Familiarity with modern JVM/Java features (e.g. virtual threads)

- Experience with database schema evolution in production environments

- Awareness of secure coding practices for data access layers
