Java Back-end Engineer

About the role 

We're looking for a Strong Middle / Senior Engineer to join a high-impact banking infrastructure migration for one of Europe's financial technology companies. Once the project is completed, you'll continue working on other FinTech initiatives, applying your expertise to other large-scale banking and financial infrastructure projects.

You’ll join a highly skilled team working on real-world challenges with high-load systems, modern cloud-native solutions, and advanced communication protocols. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow fast and gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies in a demanding but rewarding environment.

Project Highlights

Current focus: migrating a critical Temenos T24 (CBM) core banking system from one client's infrastructure to another.

Business domain: Core Banking & Financial Infrastructure.

Methodology: Agile (Scrum), 1-week sprints, daily stand-ups, regular demos.

Tooling: Bitbucket, Datadog, Slack, Jira, Google Workspace. 

What We’re Looking For:

- Strong, production-level expertise with Java; practical working knowledge of Python for automation and data-reconciliation tooling.

- Solid understanding of message-driven architecture (JBoss Queues or equivalent), including delivery guarantees, idempotency, and error handling.

- Experience with Temenos T24 or another complex core-banking / legacy financial system

- Hands-on experience with Azure. 

- Confident with Bitbucket — git workflows and PR review across two separate client teams at once.

- Practical experience setting up Datadog monitoring and alerting for critical flows.

- Strong debugging skills in distributed systems — comfortable tracing errors across services and queues under time pressure.

- English: Strong Upper-Intermediate or higher — daily live syncs with client team, not just written updates.

Nice to have:

- Prior hands-on experience with Temenos T24 specifically.

- Kotlin experience (for future FinTech projects)

- Experience with other message-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

- Google Cloud certifications.
