Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – Python

We are looking for an SDET – Python to join a team developing and maintaining automated testing solutions for digital media and home entertainment technologies.

The ideal candidate combines strong Python programming skills with solid QA and test automation experience and is comfortable working with automation frameworks, debugging complex issues, and improving test infrastructure.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in software test automation, SDET, or a similar engineering role;
• Strong programming skills in Python;
• Experience developing, maintaining, and improving automated testing frameworks;
• Experience designing and developing automated test scripts and test utilities;
• Good understanding of software design principles and clean code practices;
• Understanding of Page Object Model and other test automation design patterns;
• Experience with debugging and troubleshooting software and automation issues;
• Good working knowledge of at least one Linux/Unix-based platform as well as Windows;
• Understanding of QA methodologies, software testing processes, and related artifacts;
• Experience working in Scrum/Agile environments;
• Experience with version control systems and code review practices;
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and test automation integration would be a plus;
• Experience with API, integration, or end-to-end testing would be a plus;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills;
• Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed international teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Developing, maintaining, and enhancing Python-based test automation frameworks;
• Designing and implementing automated tests for new and existing product functionality;
• Developing reusable test automation components, utilities, and tools;
• Improving the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of the automation infrastructure;
• Performing code reviews and contributing to code quality standards;
• Debugging automation and product issues and identifying root causes;
• Investigating test failures and working closely with development and QA teams to resolve issues;
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation;
• Supporting test execution and integrating automated tests into development and CI/CD processes;
• Participating in test strategy and automation-related technical discussions;
• Communicating and collaborating with international teams across the US and UK;
• Performing limited manual testing when required — approximately 20% of the role.

Our Customer is one of the biggest companies on the market of home entertainment consumer electronics devices that strives to provide their clients with high-quality products and services.

Project goals include automation testing of the video and audio content and other services available via digital media players using a custom test automation framework.
