The engineering team develops resilient distributed systems and blockchain-based services, solving complex challenges around scalability, availability, performance, and security.

You will work closely with product, platform, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable software used in business-critical environments.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to develop and maintain scalable backend services for blockchain-based applications and distributed systems.

You will work with microservices, APIs, asynchronous communication, event-driven architectures, and integrations with multiple blockchain ecosystems. The role provides full ownership of backend components, from technical design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and further optimization.
 

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement scalable backend services for blockchain-enabled applications and distributed systems.
- Develop and support APIs, microservices, and core platform components throughout the full software development lifecycle.
- Build integrations with blockchain networks, external infrastructure, and third-party platforms.
- Research and evaluate new blockchain technologies and architectural solutions.
- Improve the scalability, reliability, performance, and security of production systems.
- Collaborate with product, platform, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
- Take full ownership of features, from initial design to deployment and continuous improvement.
 

Required Skills and Experience

- 7+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
- Strong commercial experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Proven experience designing scalable backend services, APIs, and production-grade microservices.
- Solid knowledge of distributed systems, asynchronous communication, and event-driven architectures.
- Commercial experience working with several blockchain ecosystems, including both EVM-compatible and non-EVM networks.
- Good understanding of blockchain principles, transaction processing, smart contracts, and decentralized architectures.
- Strong knowledge of secure software design and reliable production system development.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver software from technical design through production deployment.

Nice to Have

- Experience developing products within high-scale distributed platforms, fintech, or cloud-native environments.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and Kubernetes.
