Middle Project Manager / Business Analyst โ Mobile Apps
We are looking for a hands-on Project Manager / Business Analyst to take ownership of client communication, requirements, backlog, and delivery across mobile application projects.
This is a remote, part-time role for an independent specialist with proven iOS or Android project experience. You will work 15โ20 hours per week, collaborate directly with the founder and delivery team, and gradually take over the operational project workload.
Compensation: $18โ25/hour, approximately $1,200โ2,200 per month, depending on actual workload and experience.
About the role
We are a small software team delivering mobile applications for international clients.
We are looking for a Middle+ Project Manager / Business Analyst who can combine structured requirements work with practical delivery management. Your primary mission will be to take day-to-day project operations off the founder: client communication, requirements clarification, backlog management, team coordination, timelines, risks, and status reporting.
This is not a meeting-only coordination role. We need someone who can understand the business problem, turn incomplete ideas into actionable requirements, and help the team deliver working mobile products.
What you will own
- Communicate directly with clients to clarify business goals, priorities, requirements, and expectations.
- Run discovery sessions, requirement interviews, project syncs, planning meetings, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Translate business needs into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and clear development tasks.
- Create and maintain structured project documentation in Confluence.
- Own and continuously refine the product backlog in Jira.
- Work with the client, founder, designers, mobile developers, backend developers, and QA to align scope and expected behaviour.
- Review Figma flows and identify missing states, edge cases, validation rules, and inconsistencies before development begins.
- Plan iterations, milestones, releases, dependencies, and team workload.
- Track delivery progress, scope changes, risks, blockers, assumptions, and decisions.
- Provide concise weekly project updates with current status, next steps, risks, and required decisions.
- Validate delivered functionality against requirements and support UAT.
- Coordinate release readiness and support submissions to the App Store and Google Play.
- Keep communication and documentation clear enough that the team does not depend on verbal context from the founder.
- Support pre-sale discovery and preliminary project scoping when needed.
What success looks like after 60โ90 days
- You independently run regular project and client communication.
- The founder is no longer the operational bottleneck for routine project decisions.
- Active projects have structured and prioritised backlogs.
- Requirements and acceptance criteria are clear before development starts.
- Scope changes, dependencies, risks, and decisions are documented and visible.
- The team and clients receive reliable weekly status updates.
- Release preparation and UAT follow a predictable process.
Must-have experience
- 3+ years of commercial experience as an IT Project Manager, Business Analyst, or in a combined PM/BA role.
- Hands-on experience delivering mobile applications for iOS, Android, or both.
- Participation in at least one mobile project through the complete lifecycle, including production release to the App Store or Google Play.
- Experience communicating directly with international clients or external stakeholders.
- Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, decomposition, and documentation skills.
- Ability to write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, business rules, and edge cases.
- Practical knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
- Good understanding of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.
- Experience coordinating developers, designers, and QA specialists.
- Understanding of scope, estimation, dependencies, risks, change management, and release planning.
- English B2 or higher for independent written and verbal client communication.
- Strong ownership, organisation, attention to detail, and ability to work without micromanagement.
Nice to have
- Experience with both native and cross-platform mobile development projects.
- Understanding of App Store and Google Play review and release processes.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, third-party integrations, authentication, payments, subscriptions, push notifications, and deep links.
- Experience with Firebase, Crashlytics, mobile analytics, or similar tools.
- Experience managing two or more projects or workstreams simultaneously.
- Experience with pre-sale discovery, project scoping, and estimation.
- Basic understanding of mobile QA, device fragmentation, OS compatibility, and regression testing.
- Experience working in a small outsourcing or product-development team.
Cooperation format
- Part-time: 15โ20 hours per week.
- Fully remote.
- Candidates located in Ukraine or Europe.
- Flexible schedule with 2โ3 hours of weekday overlap with the team in the EET time zone.
- Hourly compensation: $18โ25.
- Expected monthly compensation: approximately $1,200โ2,200 after tax, depending on workload and experience.
- Long-term cooperation.
- Direct communication with the founder, clients, and delivery team.
- No time-consuming unpaid test assignment.
Hiring process
- CV and application review.
- Short introductory call.
- Case interview based on a realistic mobile project situation.
